Can I move multiple transactions for one bank chart of account to another bank chart of account?

Hi @barbarahcooperll.

It's nice to have you here in the Community. I can provide clarification on moving transactions between bank accounts.

Just to clarify, did the transactions that you're needing to move originate from the Bank feed? If so, one option that you have is to exclude them from the current account and import a file from your financial institution into the correct one. For additional information on this, including steps, please see the following articles:

Should all of the transactions that are in the account need to be moved to the other one, you may wish to consider merging them. This process would combine the two accounts into one. However, this process cannot be reversed and is permanent. I'm including an article that covers this in greater detail, such as how reconciliations are impacted: How to Merge Accounts, Customers, and Vendors.

Naturally, you also have the option of manually changing the transactions. Here's how:

  • Open up the transaction.
  • Change the account that's associated with it. For Expenses, you would use Bank/Credit account drop-down, while Deposits would be the Account drop-down.
  • Click Save.

The following is a brief video to serve as an example:

That's it. I'm confident that one of these options will help you with moving the transactions between bank accounts.

If you have any questions about this, please don't hesitate to let me know. Hope you have a great day:
