Not all features in the Desktop version can be found in QuickBooks Online at the moment. The column where you can the cost and possible profit when creating an estimate is not available in QBO.

It's been 3 years since this post. I'm just wondering if any progress has been made on this. This is a very critical feature in SD where they charge sales tax on the cost of goods for construction projects.
It's been 3 years since this question was asked. Has there been any progress on this? This feature is very important in South Dakota (and other states) where they charge sales tax on the cost of goods sold on construction projects.

For updates, the cost of goods and markup sections are still unavailable in the estimate. As a workaround, I suggest looking for a third-party app that can perform the same task you want in the estimate.
In the meantime, let's send direct feedback to our Product Development Team since I know how this would be beneficial on your end. Once they see how useful this feature is, they might add this to our future product updates.
