Buy nowI am using QB Desktop Premier 2019. I recently updated to Windows 11. Additionally, I have added a MS Office 365 subscription. I am now unable to export a report to Excel (option is grayed-out). I have downloaded the Office 365 apps to my laptop and I have uninstalled and reinstalled QB 2019. In addition, I have run all the current updates for QB 2019.
I would really appreciate any advice. Thank you.
Are you unable to export a specific report or any reports?
Thanks for taking the time to visit the community forum and posting details about your concern, @Jwy60
I appreciate your proactive efforts in performing some troubleshooting steps to fix the issue. Exporting reports to Excel is a good way to get a better snapshot of your transactions and make necessary changes if needed. Don't worry, I can share additional troubleshooting so you can get back to working order.
Please know that Windows 11 is not compatible with QuickBooks 2019. This is one of the reasons why you're unable to export a report to Excel.
Since the same thing happens even after updating your QuickBooks Desktop, check out our QuickBooks system requirements. Each version of QuickBooks Desktop works with specific versions of Microsoft Office. If you have the web version of Office 365, you need to install it locally so that it'll be supported by QuickBooks 2019.
If your version of Microsoft Office is compatible, yet the issue persists, I'd recommend following this link from Microsoft for the steps to repair an Office application. Then, go back into QuickBooks and export a report.
If this doesn't fix the issue, proceed to steps 4 and 5 from this article: Fix export to Excel issues in QuickBooks Desktop.
Additional details about exporting reports are also discussed here: Export reports as Excel workbooks in QuickBooks Desktop.
