When changing the account type of the accounts, you'll need to start it with the sub-accounts, reversing their sub-accounts status and then change their account types.
Here's what you'll need to do:
- Click the Gear icon at the top.
- Under Your Company, pick Chart of Accounts.
- Locate the sub-account you'd want to change.
- Select Edit from the Action column drop-down menu,
- In the Account dialogue, clear the Is sub-account checkbox.
- Choose the new Account Type from the drop-down menu.
- Pick the appropriate Detail Type from the drop-down list.
- Hit Save and Close and Yes in the prompt to change the account.
You can follow the above steps for the other sub-accounts you'd want to change. Then, change the account type for the parent account.
