Can we add 3 different shipping addresses to one customer? I see there are the sub-customers, but those exist for other purposes than just adding shipping addresse right?

Hello there, laura.d@serax.co. Let me clear things out about adding multiple addresses to a single customer in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Each customer in QuickBooks Online can have one shipping address available. A workaround I can suggest is to create sub-accounts for the other addresses.

We use it to track individuals who are part of a group or specific accounts for a larger organization. You can have unlimited sub-customers. Parent accounts can have up to four levels down of sub-customers.

You'll also want to use the location tracking feature as another workaround to use different addresses. Here's how to enable it:

  1. Click the Gear icon, then select Account and Settings.
  2. Select the Advanced tab.
  3. Locate the Categories section.
  4. Turn on the Track locations and hit Save.

Follow these steps to add a location:

  1. Select All lists from the Lists tab.
  2. Choose Locations.
  3. Click the New button.

You can now use that address when you'll create new transactions. See this screenshot as an example.

I'm also adding this article to learn about the location tracking feature in QuickBooks Online.

You can always contact us at any time whenever you need help or assistance with your QBO account. We're always here to help. Take care!

Hello Kevin,

Thanks a lot for your feedback.

If I only use the location tracking feature (and not the sub-accounts), will I be able to choose between different locations (=shipping addresses) to make it appear on my invoice?

Or this feature is only used for reporting and not used to show the right shipping address on the invoice?

Many thanks!

Thanks for getting back to us, @laura.d@serax.co. Allow me to share some details about the location tracking feature.

Yes, you can utilize the location tracking feature in QuickBooks Online (QBO) to categorize your invoices from different events. Please know that this feature is exclusive for QBO Plus and Advanced versions.

You can check this article to further guide you in creating invoices.

Also, you might want to use the class tracking feature in QBO to help track your income, expenses, or profitability by business segment. To learn how to get started with this, you can use this link.

I’m always ready to assist you if you have any other questions or concerns about this feature in QBO. Tag me in your reply and I’ll sprint back into action. Have a good one and keep safe.
