Join nowYou've come to the right place. I have all the steps to guide you on how to make the Rate and Quantity appear on your estimates in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
If you want to send estimates to your customers, we have the option to view them first and modify the things we want to display by using the Custom form styles feature. This tool enables us to customize the appearance and layout of sales form.
Here's how to include the Rate and Quantity on your estimate:
Before sending the estimate, make sure to choose the correct template or the one you just modified. See the screenshot below for your reference.
That should do it. To learn more about personalizing your template on sales forms, check out this link: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.
Moreover, if you want to have a snapshot of your transactions you can run reports in QuickBooks Online.
I'll be right here to help you if you have further questions. It's really glad to help. Have a good one!
Hi,
I'm having the same problem - but using the link to send to customers. The estimate appears normal when printing it or saving as a pdf, however if I click on link to copy to send to a customer, it never shows the quantity or shipping costs, just a subtotal and total amount.
I've gone through your steps above, but the 'description' box is greyed out and won't allow me to click it. How do I get round that?
Thanks for joining the Community and getting involved with this thread, keg1013. I appreciate your detailed information.
When you send a Share estimate link to a customer so they can download, print, and/or approve their estimate, the copy they'd download/print would be the same as the PDF/printed version you're referring to. The initial preview your customer sees after clicking their link may appear a bit different than the PDF/printed version.
If your Description option is greyed out and unusable when customizing an estimate template, this can be caused by having the Include description here option turned on, under your Product/Service option. To make the Description option usable, you'll need to turn off Include description here while customizing your template.
Here's an image showing how it can be done:
I've also included a detailed resource about working with estimates which may come in handy moving forward: Create & send estimates
Please don't hesitate to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have a wonderful Thursday!
