Can you use your customized invoice template when using the batch invoice function?

I recently did a batch invoice download where I invoiced 15 customers at once.  It saved a lot of time.  The one massive issue that I realized after I had the invoices created was that they were uploaded on the "modern" invoice design that Quickbooks created.  They didn't upload to the template I created and use for invoicing.  This template is my "default" and will be used every time I create a single invoice but it isn't used when using batch invoicing. Is there a way to get the custom invoice template for Batch Invoicing? Or is there a way to change the "modern invoice" that Quickbooks created and put as their invoice and change it to the exact version I want to use.  Either way would help with this very valuable Batch Invoicing system.  I hope this makes sense!

It's nice to see you here in the Community,@betterlawnservic.

Currently, the feature to customize invoice templates when using the batch invoice function is unavailable.

I understand the importance of customizing your invoice template when using batch invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO). For now, I recommend sending feedback about it.

Here's how:

  1. At the upper right corner, click the Gear icon.
  2. Under the Profile, select Feedback.
  3. Enter your comments or product suggestions.
  4. Then, select Next to submit a feedback.

You can also check this to track your request: Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online.

I will also include a helpful article that guides you in receiving and recording invoice payments: Record invoice payments.

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions regarding the customized invoice template or any other QBO-related concerns. I'm always here to assist you.

Can you use your customized invoice template when using the batch invoice function?

Thank you for the quick response.  Yes, that would be very valuable if we would be able to use the template that we've created for the batch invoice option.  Batch invoicing saves so much time but it's useless if it uses a invoicing template that doesn't show any of the important information needed for the invoice.

Is there a way to change the template of the invoice that was provided to us when starting Quickbooks online? It's called "modern" and is the default invoice for Batch invoicing.  If I can change the template of the "modern" invoice and make it fit more of my needs (example: adding the customer balance information, making a message at the bottom of the invoice, etc.), that would solve the problem as well.

I hope there might be a work around to this issue, I'll try anything because the batch invoices saves me a lot of time with data entry.

Hi there, Betterlawnservic.

I appreciate you returning to the thread and raising your concern about the invoice templates in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

I understand the importance of customizing the invoice templates sent to your customers using the batch invoice feature. However, if you want to continue using a personalized template, you'll have to send the invoices individually.

As this feature is unavailable, I encourage sending feedback to our Product Development team. They will carefully consider this option to ensure it meets your business needs effectively.

To send a feature recommendation, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Gear icon at the top, then tap Feedback.
  2. Indicate your comments or suggestions.
  3. Then select Next to submit feedback.

You can trace requests for features through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.

Furthermore, you can see the latest updates in QuickBooks by checking out this article: What's new in QuickBooks.

Has this feature been updated yet?  We were recently sold on batch invoicing, but had the same problem that those invoices don't match our format.

Has this feature been fixed yet?  If you can't use your invoice template, it makes the batch invoice feature useless.

Can you use your customized invoice template when using the batch invoice function?

Wow.. Lets try this again..

So I wanted to hop on this thread to say how frustrated I am on this topic. It was bad enough trying to understand with the language barrier of the lovely man from overseas while he tried to navigate my issue, to no avail; not to mention the other agents in the background - I don't know how they stay sane, I was dizzy after the call. Then, I'm filling this  comment out, and I get a survey pop up asking how satisfied I am with QBO. Let's put it this way Mr. or Ms. Survey person - I'm not satisfied at all! - Then I had to navigate back to the thread becasue it froze out.

I'm trying to use the batch invoice feature and I can't even edit my phone number or the size of the font. The only way I can get around this is by duplicating the previous months invoice, which no BS - takes 2 days to do - Now it's going to take longer as I continue on this rant. Sorry/ Not Sorry..  This should be a very easy thing to fix, and for crying out load Intuit, why can't I edit a batch invoice that has the fields I need to populate, adjust font sizes, fix my address.

You forced me out of Desktop and I could do all those things and more, but this is ridicoulous! The parting words were "the engineers are working on it, and they will let you know when it fixed" - In other words; Probably never going to happen at all.. I'm really disappointed. Sorry about the negativity, I really want to be able to use the program, but y'all arent making this easy.
