Changing an Ask My Accountant entry

I have a deposit that was entered under Ask My Accountant when it should have been under Sales because it was a wire that came in. When I change it, the Ask My Accountant total keeps going up when it should have been going down. What am I doing wrong?

Changing an Ask My Accountant entry

I've got you covered, @courtneyjavery.

 

We can delete and then recreate the deposit you entered into your account. This is a way to fix the total that keeps on going up under Ask My Accountant. 

 

Here's how you can delete the entry to start over:

 

  1. Proceed to the Reports menu.
  2. Select Report Center and choose the Banking section.
  3. Find the Deposit Detail report. Then click the Run icon.
  4. Locate and open the deposit you want to delete.
  5. In the Make Deposits window, you'll see all the payments included in the deposit. 
  6. Right-click in the window and select Delete deposit
  7. Lastly, choose OK to confirm.
