Hi All,
I've tried searching but the two links that I want to click on don't appear to be working?? They both take me to a page that says: "We couldn’t find that answer for you. Use the Back button to try again."
Anyways, my question is, is it possible to create an *actual* custom report inside of QB on QuickBooks Desktop Premier, or is that outside the scope of what's available within this product? If it isn't something I can do within QuickBooks Desktop Premier, what are my options?
And by custom, I don't mean the option where you are modifying an existing report to choose what columns are visible in the reports in the report center (under Customize Report > Display > Columns > Check the ones to show).
I appreciate any and all help! Thanks!

Well, there's the reports on the QB menu a Reports | Custom Reports | Summary and Reports | Customer Reports | Transaction Detail.
If they're not what you're looking for, what do you mean by custom reports?

Okay, I didn't actually see that option up there, I was only looking in the "Report Center" before. This is kind of what I was looking for, but maybe I'm missing something.
Say for example I wanted to recreate or modify an existing report, using "Inventory Valuation Summary" as an example.
So I choose Summary instead of Transaction under the menu you mentioned earlier. I choose "Display rows by: Item Detail" and I can get the rows to look the same, however, I don't see any option to add/create columns? There's a "Show Columns" option, but it doesn't let me choose any of the options that are available on the report I mentioned above, and as soon as I choose one of the categories, all of the columns from the category I previously had selected disappear.
What am I doing wrong?
Hi there,
You can view the reports shared by BigRedConsulting by going to the Reports menu. Let me guide you with these steps:
Feel free to browse this reference for more information about customizing report: Customize reports
I'll be around if there's anything that I can help with. Keep safe!
That's already where I was, unfortunately. Also, that link is the same link I posted in my original post which wasn't working for me yesterday, but now it is!
I guess I'll give it a look over and see what I can do, otherwise I'll just use the Quickbooks SDK to do what I need, just was looking for something easier :). (Because it looks like to do what I truly want within QuickBooks I would need the Enterprise version unfortunately!)
Thanks for the responses!
RE: What am I doing wrong?
Nothing. You can't do that. Many of the canned reports use special axis that are otherwise unavailable.
QuickBooks reports are quite powerful and generally work great.. until they don't. There are a lot of limitations as they basic types of reports are limited. For truly custom reports, you basically have to extract the data and roll your own.
You have clicked a link to a site outside of the QuickBooks or ProFile Communities. By clicking "Continue", you will leave the community and be taken to that site instead.
