Customer balance

I have negative balances for some of my customers.  However, when I view a Statement, it's blank.  If I view a QuickReport on the transactions, it doesn't match up to the negative balance.  If I view an Open Balance report, it's -0-.  Client cost reports are -0-.

Where would these negative balances be coming from and how do I get rid of them?  These customers were never invoiced.

Thank you.

Customer balance

Hello there.

When running reports, it's necessary to ensure that the correct filters have been applied to show the desired information. I'd suggest filtering the report Date to All.

Then to resolve the negative balance, feel free to utilize this article as your reference: Resolve accounts receivable and accounts payable balances on a cash basis balance sheet.

Customer balance

I ran a Customer Detail report with date filter set to “All”. Balances are -0-.

When I run a Client cost report, it has a different balance from the “Balance Total” under Customers & Jobs in customer center. For example:

Jane Doe
Customer Balance Detail: $0
Client cost Report: $164.39
Balance Total: $171.64

We run Enterprise Desktop Solutions 23.0 and are current on upgrades.

Customer balance

Greetings, @Accounting4050-2020.

Allow me to share some insights about your concern, when you run a client cost report, it has a different balance from the “Balance Total” under Customers & Jobs in the customer center in QuickBooks Desktop.

There are several potential reasons why balances in the customer balance detail may appear as zero in QuickBooks Desktop. A negative balance means there is an unapplied/overpayment or credit. You have to click the amount of the total to review the transaction.

Here are a few things to consider:

To address the zero-balance issue, begin by examining these factors and correcting any identified discrepancies.
