Customized Profit & Loss Report

I would like a report with Month to Date in 1st column, YTD in a 2nd column, and Previous YTD in a 3rd column.

The answer I received below gives me Month to Date, Month to date Previous Year and Year to Date this year.  How can I get current month on a profit/loss report with YTD comparisons this year and last year on 1 custom report?

From the Reports menu, select Company & Financial, then choose Profit & Loss Standard.
Click on Customize Report. In the Modify Report window, ensure to put a checkmark on the Previous Year and Year-To-Date boxes. Tap OK.

Customized Profit & Loss Report

Hi there, phxchild12.

Thanks for getting back to us. I'm here to share details about the Profit & Loss (P&L) report you'd like to pull up in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Currently, the ability to have the P&L report display that information is unavailable. In the meantime, you can manually export each details (MTD, YTD, and previous YTD) to Excel and customize it from there as a workaround.

Let's start by exporting the month-to-date. Here's how:

  1. In the P&L report, click the Customize Report option and remove the checkmarks on the Previous Year and Year-To-Date boxes.
  2. Hit OK.
  3. Now, tick the Dates drop-down at the upper left and select This Month-to-date.
  4. Select the Excel option at the top, then choose Create New Worksheet.

Once done, repeat the steps and for the YTD and previous YTD.

I can see how having this option would be helpful for you and your business. While this isn't available yet, I suggest sending feedback directly to our product developers. They're always looking for ideas to consider on how to improve QuickBooks.

Here's how to submit feedback:

  1. Go to the Help menu at the top.
  2. Select Send Feedback Online.
  3. Click Product Suggestion.
  4. Choose a feedback type and product area on the QuickBooks Feedback window.
  5. Enter your feedback, name, and email address (optional).
  6. Once done, click on the Send Feedback button.
