Daily bottom line report for each day fo the year

I want a simple report highlighting how much we made each day of the year.  Only 365 lines and numbers.

Don't want any detail.  Want to highlight large variations in our daily results to investigate.

When you say "how much we made", do you mean daily gross sales or daily net income (profit)?  You can run a standard P&L report, click 'Customize Report' in the upper left, select your dates, under the "Display columns by" drop-down menu, select 'Day', then click OK.  That will give you a P&L by day which will include your daily sales at the top and your daily net income (profit) at the bottom.  You can then export it to Excel and remove the rows you don't want.

Daily bottom line report for each day fo the year

Hi logroll!

Rainflurry has actually provided the right way to run a report that will show your daily income. Let me put them in steps so you can follow them easily.

  1. From the Reports menu, select Company & Financial.
  2. Choose Profit & Loss Standard.
  3. Select a date range and set the Show Columns to Day
  4. Click the parent income and expense accounts to collapse their respective sections.
  5. Click the Excel button and select Create New Worksheet.
  6. Select Export on the pop-up window. If you receive a prompt message that says only 256 columns are allowed in a worksheet, adjust the date range to export the first half of the year followed by the other half. Just combine the data in one worksheet afterwards.

On the other hand, if you want to see some references about reports, you can visit the main support page, scroll down a bit, and click More Topics. This will show you the topic groups for QB Desktop, and you can expand the Reports tile for more articles.

Feel free to return to this thread if you have more questions about the report. Take care and have a good one.

You'll have to run a P&L as I described above, then either collapse the rows (see attached) or export to Excel and manipulate it.
