Deposit report that lists fees

I need a report of deposits with date, customer name, invoice amount and fees deducted.

I can see it under Sales/deposits but cannot figure out how to export that list.

You can run, customize, and export the Transaction List by Customer report to get the deposit lists, @Weigandi. Let me show you how.

To customize the report, please follow the steps below.

  1. Go to Report.
  2. Type in Transaction List by Customer in the search bar.
  3. Click Customize.
  4. In the Filter section, choose Deposit in the Transaction Type dropdown.
  5. Hit Run report.

Then, export the report by clicking the Export icon beside the Gear icon on the report page and customize it further by adding the fees for the deposits.

Additionally, you can also memorize your reports to save your customizations for future use.

Return to this thread if you need further assistance getting the report you need in QuickBooks. I'll be here to help you in any way I can.

Thank you, JanBonn.

This report does not include the

fees per transaction. I am looking for a report that gives me the same information as in the attached screen shot. If it was a deposit that included multiple payments, it should open up to show details.  Is that possible? Essential, I would like the same report I get under "Sales/Deposits", in a printable/downloadable format.

Thank you for your prompt reply, Weigandi and I appreciate you for providing a screenshot for a clearer view. I’ll be happy to provide you with the steps that give you the same information as in the attached screenshot above.

Here's how you can view the transactions:

  1. Sign in to the Merchant Service Center.
  2. Go to Activity & Reports menu and select Deposits.
  3. Select the Dates dropdown.
  4.  Click the Show advanced options to do a specific search using the transaction ID and expiration date of the card.
  5. Select Search.
  6. To view the deposit details, you can click on the small arrow icon in the FEE column. You can also print or export the data.

For thorough details, check out this article: Find transactions, deposits, or fees in the Merchant Service Center.

Know that you can always get back to this page if you need anything else. I'll be around to lend a helping hand. Have a nice day!

Deposit report that lists fees

Thank you for your help, Louise, though I still don't really have what I need.

Missing:

The Sales/Deposit listing lets me click through to the actual transaction so I can see the original invoice and the name of the entity. This report only gives me the name of the person who paid, which is mostly meaningless. We are dealing with hundred of schools and the majority of  cards used for payment are in the name of front office personnel rather than the school itself. I need the report as an overview of who has paid.

Yes, I know - on the screen I can click on the transaction ID which gets me to Sales/Deposits and from there I can click through to the invoice, but that is multiple steps for something that really should be easier - and the links do not download with the report.

For now, I am going to cut and paste information from the Sales/Deposit screen into an excel spreadsheet.

It's messy and time consuming, but it preserves the links.

Thanks for getting us back, @Weigandi.

For now, the report that you want is unavailable in QuickBooks Online. You can share feedback with us to help improve your QuickBooks experience. Our product engineers will take a look at your suggestions and get it possibly added in the future enhancements.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon , then Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions. Then select Next to submit feedback.

Yes you're right, in the meantime that's the work around so the report will show. You need to click the transaction ID, manually copy and paste it to excel and consolidate it.

You may check this article for future reference: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Thank you, Erin. QB has been very helpful to our non-profit; we have used it from the start.

This is the first year I have activated QB payments and I am not sure that works for us.  Up to now, we have relied on PayPal, which has lower fees and much better reporting functions. Too bad; the link to direct payments is very convenient, but does not seem worth the trouble. I think I'll just stick with QB for bookkeeping and go back to collections via PayPal.
