The only problem is that you are required to upgrade when you do payroll on it. I have upgraded to 2019-2021
on various clients and all have the same problem. Very aggravating. Your right they dont care and unfortuantely that is our new world today. Money, online, iis more important. Very sad.
We are starting to explore changing our bookkeeping program we recommend to our clients due to lack of concern by Intuit. Has anyone used Patriot software or Xero software? They also appear to be about half the cost of QB.
Spoke with QuickBooks support, we installed a manual patch to release R6P then rebuilt the company file. This resolved the issue for our companies.
I too am very disappointed with Quickbooks but the following steps did work for me.
It's possible that the memorized report or the memorized report list is damaged. Let me guide you in re-sorting your memorized reports list to isolate this unexpected behavior.
Once completed, make sure to restart QuickBooks to ensure that all components are updated. Now, you can try accessing your memorized report.
Hello @Teresa_A.
I hate to hear that you’re disappointed and will pass that feedback along.
Thank you for sharing that these steps worked for you. I appreciate you letting us know so that others may benefit.
Please feel free to reach out any time you have questions or if there is anything we can help you with.
Enjoy your day!
this did NOT work for me!
Did QB send you the patch? Or do you have a link?
~Victoria
Did you ever hear back from them?
NOPE Typical of the customer service -
QB employees: Please stop posting useless answers that do not solve this issue. The only acceptable solution is for the memorized reports to work as they did before the upgrade.
If you are not going to post a patch or some other solution, please do not comment on this thread.

Here is the link they had me go to. We are based in the US, Desktop Enterprise, Version 21. Which brought me to what looked like a download page for Quickbooks, but if you click "Get the latest updates" it will download the R6P web patch.
This process took about 10 minutes and I did have to restart the server. Afterwards a rebuild of company files did resolve the issue for us!
Here is a link the page where I received the R6P update. This is for US based Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise version 21
Then if you click "Get the latest update" it will download the web patch I used.
It did require a restart for us to complete the install, but memorized reports worked after rebuilding companies in this update.
Victoria,
I did not get get a patch.. I just downloaded my 2021 QB a week ago, when I started moving my clients over I noticed the reports not opening. I did a search and that's how I got here. I followed the steps that they gave and it worked for me. I only have had time to do two clients, We'll see how it goes with the rest of my clients....
My memorized reports that were customized - standard reports modified/changed and memorized - did not open in 2021. I had to rebuild those reports. For example: "Trial Balance - Cash accounts only" - will not open.
My memorized reports that were standard reports, just memorized, worked. For example "Trial Balance" report memorized, did open with 2021.
I found it to be the modified reports that were memorized that did not work in 2021. I am having to rebuild those reports and re-memorize with a new name, then delete the original report that would not open with 2021.
And by the way - I tried all the above steps that were recommended including the update link and rebuild list. None of those steps worked.
All,
I just got off the phone with QB.
They were able to direct me to a patch (R6) that corrects the problem!!!
I now have my memorized reports back!!!
On QB, go to "Help" and click on it.
Next, click "contact us"
and again "contact us"
In the space where you are given 170 characters of space, describe the problem (ie, "memorized reports will not appear now that I updated from 2018 to 2021"), then "get a call back".
My wait time was given as 45 min (actually was about 1 hour).
I see the time has climbed to 120 - just use a phone you do not need for 2 hours!!
Ask someone to lead you through the process to get the patch - but also MAKE sure you have the latest version of your software if possible.
Blessings,
Sue
FIXED!!!!!
Contact QB:
"help"
"contact us"
"contact us" again,
describe problem,
hit "Lets talk", and
ask to get a call back
and you will be able to get your reports back with the help of an agent on a call!
There was apparently an update completed just last Friday (5/21) called R6, that fixes the problem.
Take care, and praying this works for you!
Sue
When I opened QB 2021 this morning, there was a message about the R6 patch. I have installed. It appears that they fixed the problem.
Check to be sure you have automatic updates turned on. (See the detail page)
or
Check the update area for the R6 patch (In a QB update - see the detail page)
Accountant Desktop 2021
Upgraded on 5/25/21 and quickly found out that memorized reports did not work. After reading through this message string did the following:
Installed the R6 patch
File -> Utilities -> Verify Data (said problem with memorized reports)
File -> Utilities -> Rebuild Data
Reports are working now!
Based on what I am seeing, it is time to start pursuing a class action suit against Intuit. The time lost as a result of their basic failure to test a published piece of software that is licensed from them must run into millions of dollars!
4 months into the issue and still no resolution!
I recently bought the Premier Desktop 2021 version. I opened it and it cannot find any of my backups from my 2018 version. I guess I will just have to wait and see if you all can get this resolved!!
I can help you find your backup file, @SIinc.
When your computer is disconnected from the path where the QuickBooks file is located or your QuickBooks file has been deleted from your computer, this issue usually happens.
Let's go to your server computer and perform a wildcard search for all company files. Make sure to include the asterisk (*) before the extension type to ensure the search works correctly. Here are the following:
Take note of the file location once you find it. Also, I recommend you rename your company file. This way, you can easily locate it when opening your company file moving forward.
Please feel free to read these handy articles for your reference:

Let me know if there's anything I can help with further. Have a great weekend!
Where do you get the R6 patch
Hello, Sherryadski.
Let me share some information about R6 patch. It is the current release version of QuickBooks Desktop 2021.
When you install the R6 update patch, there are some changes on your QuickBooks but it doesn't update your company file.
Here's how to check if you have R6 patch:
I've also included this article for additional information about Release notes for QuickBooks Desktop 2021.
I'm also adding this article that tackles maintaining your software up-to-date, so you always have the latest features and fixes: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.
Let me know if you have additional questions in managing your QuickBooks. I'm always here to help.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! It works!
Doing these steps - in this order - finally worked for me.
1. Download & install the R6P update.
2. Run Verify Data. (File menu, then Utilities)
3. Rebuild Data. (File menu, then Utilities)
Note: Since I have my auto updates on, I assumed that the R6P patch would fix the issue. It did not. Once I completed ALL 3 STEPS in that order, my customized/memorized reports opened!
