Hi there, @rebtechcorp,
Thank you for reaching out to us here in the Community.
In QuickBooks Online (QBO), there are two ways see the invoice preview. First, you can click the Print or Preview button at the bottom of the Invoice screen. Secondly, the invoice preview will show up after clicking the Save and send button. You can refer to the screenshot below to serve as your visual guide.
If you've already tried the steps above but you can't still see the invoice preview, let's perform some basic troubleshooting steps to help resolve it.
First, let's use a private/incognito browser since it doesn’t store data in the cache. This way, it helps isolate the issue and verify if this is a browser-related issue. Here are the following keyboard shortcuts to open a private browser:
If the private browser works, let’s clear cache in your regular browser. By doing so, it’s a good way to get a clean slate for your browser. You can follow the steps on this article: Clear Browser Cache and Temporary Internet Files.
Once done, let’s enable pop-ups for QBO since it helps the website to work properly. Then, you’ll have to log back in to your QBO account and check the invoice preview if it works.
Please let me know how it goes on your end, @rebtechcorp. I'm just a comment away if there's anything else you need. I’ll gladly help. Have a good day.
Sometimes you simply want to "Preview" or possibly even print, the invoice "Before" saving it. Clicking on the Preview or Print option at the bottom of the screen, forces the invoice to be saved. Afterwards, if you don't like something, you are left with either editing the invoice, voiding it, or simply deleting it which simply adds so many unnecessary entries in the Audit Trail.
A simple "Preview" button should be available to do just that - Preview - what you have created or are creating.
I'm sure countless hours had been spent discussing this at the Intuit Team Meetings. I'm sure the CPAs forced their hand and wanted every single step recorded. However, remember why Quickbooks was created in the first place. It was meant for "BOOKKEEPERS" and not all the other people who want this or that. They're not doing the actual data entry JOB!! You're just making a bookkeepers job more and more of a nightmare...
If I were in your situation, I'd sure feel the same way, Budget Friendly Bookkeeping.
The option "Preview" button is unavailable in QuickBooks. When you click the Print or Preview button it will automatically save the transaction.
I'll ensure to personally share this suggestion to our product development team so they'll be able to know your sentiments and might consider this in any future updates.
In addition, you can check our QuickBooks Blog so you'll be updated with all new feature released in our software.
Just let me know if there's anything else that I can help you with.
I'm with Budget Friendly Bookkeeping - there has to be a way to VIEW the invoice before printing, downloading and ESPECIALLY BEFORE SAVING.
I'm with Budget Bookkeeping - there must be a way to VIEW without SAVING prior to printing, downloading or saving/sending!!!! I've been using QB products since it's inception and this is ridiculous.
I appreciate you using QuickBooks for a long time, @KIS.
We always value customers who take time to share their thoughts about the features in QuickBooks Online.
Since the preview option automatically saves the transaction, the only workaround available is to delete/edit it to get the desired result. I'll be sure to pass this along as well to our Product Developers. This way, they can consider this in future product updates.

I am with Kis & Budget Friendly Bookkeeping. I just started using QBO Jan 2024 now. but this issue is still here. This issue has been complained by Kis & Budget Friendly Bookkeeping back to 2019. It has been resolved yet!
Thanks for joining the thread, bcting.
I agree it's a great idea to have the preview option before saving an invoice. However, this feature is unavailable. I recommend sending your feedback about this to our Product Development Team. Here's how:
