Hello.
I set up the Etsy app to sync with QB Online. I have 1 Etsy shop. Gave the app the proper permissions and have the accounts properly set up (checking and credit card). No transactions are importing. It did create the Etsy accounts, but there are no arrows indicating that's it's linked to Etsy and I don't see the Etsy bank account in the Transactions window where I can ask it to update. It's been over 6 hours. My shop is small with few transactions, so it shouldn't take this long I don't think.
Any ideas what I should check?
Thank you in advance!
Thanks for posting in the Community, @rcd2301. I'm here to ensure you'll get the right support to sync your Etsy transactions in QuickBooks Online.
As soon as you connect your Etsy account via Sync with Etsy, the program automatically enters and classifies all imported transactions. The names of the accounts, services, clients, and vendors you chose while configuring the integration are used to categorize them.
Additionally, the accounts displayed on the Banking section are the ones connected to online banking. This tab will only generate financial intuitions connected to the program. This means you’ll be unable to see Etsy there since this is integration from a third-party application.
You can check these articles for more additional details about keeping your data accurate:

Thank you for your response.
But that's exactly the problem- the program IS NOT entering and classifying any data at all. It says I'm connected, but nothing happens.
I am also having this same issue.
I am also having the same issue. Please read the question thoroughly and provide a relevant response. Thank you.
Hi there, hautecreations.
I'm here to ensure you'll get the right support to sync your Etsy transactions in QuickBooks Online.
Before the Sync with Etsy app imports your transactions, make sure these accounts are set up by going to your chart of accounts in QuickBooks.
For your reference, you can scan through this article: Import transactions from your Etsy shop into QuickBooks Online. This will give you in-depth details on how your transactions are imported into QuickBooks as well as tips for reconciling your Etsy account.
On the other hand, we can perform some basic troubleshooting steps to make sure the issue isn't browser-related. It's possible that local internet cache files are the reason for this unexpected behavior.
Let's start accessing your account using a different or private browser. You can use either of these shortcut keys:
If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. This is done to speed up the process the next time you do a transaction in QuickBooks Online. Also, an alternative way is to use other compatible browsers.
However, if the issue persists, I'd suggest getting in touch with the Etsy App to check on how they send your transactions to QuickBooks.
Additionally, in case you see duplicate transactions, you can follow the steps in this article to make adjustments: Make adjustments when you import past Etsy transactions in QuickBooks Online.
Keep your post coming if you need further assistance with importing transactions from your Etsy app. I'm always here to help. Have a great day!
Hello. Etsy App for QuickBooks Online has been working just fine. But for a week now, there are NO sales being imported. So my Etsy Register is showing a total that is VERY different from the truth. All Etsy charges are being imported, as are refunds. But no Sales Receipts have been imported since April 4th. Issue persists in both Firefox and Chrome. I cleared cache and tried incognito/private browsers in both--same issue.
All other registers are up to date and importing data correctly.
I know that this hasn't been an easy process for you, AlexAlex1.
Getting the connection to work has required a lot of effort on your part. I appreciate everything you've done. Normally, Etsy sales are automatically imported into the program as receipts, while fees are entered as expenses.
To further isolate the problem and start over fresh, let's disconnect and link the app again. Sometimes, the connection between QBO and the e-commerce program can become interrupted or corrupted, causing errors and inconsistencies in data transfer. Here's how:
However, if the same thing happens, I recommend contacting the connector's technical representatives. This way, they can pull your account in a safe session and conduct an investigation. You can find their contact info under the Support section of the app profile.
To learn more about how the integration works, feel free to visit our FAQ page.
Feel free to drop by here if you have concerns about third-party app synchronization. I'll be more than happy to lend you a helping hand, AlexAlex1.
Thanks for getting back to me.
Problem persists. I disconnected and reconnected the Etsy App. I have no sales imported since april 4th. All other charges are imported just fine.
As for getting support from the Etsy App, that is also a dead end. If I go to Apps/MyApps/Sync with Etsy and choose "support" from the drop down menu on the right, I am sent to the "Import transactions from your Etsy Shop into Quickbooks online" article. (For some reason this message string won't let me share the link.)
Or, if I go to "settings" and choose "request support" I get this message:
Thanks for the prompt response, Alex. Let me route you to the best available support to assist you with this importing transactions issue.
While the Community can provide answers and troubleshooting solutions to certain questions, there are some things about which only our Intuit Developers can provide specific information about your concern.
We have a separate forum where you can interact with our product developers, product experts, and engineers about the software, the QuickBooks integration process, or developer license-related questions.
That said, I encourage posting this query to our Intuit Developer Community. They have the tools and resources available to assist you in resolving your concern. Here's how:
Additionally, here's an article about successfully importing your Etsy transactions into QuickBooks: Import transactions from your Etsy shop into QuickBooks Online.
Keep me posted if you need a hand with other QuickBooks-related concerns. I'm always here to ensure your success. Have a great day!
Use another connector to isolate the problem.
Can you give me an example of another connector? Is there another way to import Etsy transactions into QBO besides the Sync with Etsy app?
Considering I am not a developer, it seems above the call of duty to have to go to the developer forum. However, I have followed your instructions and posted the issue there.
Yesterday I was on online chat for over 3 hours with both QBO and Etsy, simultaneously. I was trapped in an endless battle of both sides insisting it was the other sides responsibility.
ETSY online chat's position:
"I checked and I can see Quickbooks is sucessfully integrated with your shop. And there doesn't seems to be any issue on our end. I would like to clarify that when you connected this app to your shop, you granted them permission to access some of the data in your shop and make changes. Ultimately, on our end this is successfully integrated with your shop. With these types of services, Etsy isn’t the party that exports or imports data. Instead, it’s up to Quickbooks to ensure that they are successfully making requests to our server to retrieve and configure information. For this reason, any further troubleshooting would be best addressed by their team.
I hear your point, however we are unable to check what data they are trying to fetch. Successful integration means they have right to access and sync information. If they are unable to do it, then you may try to disconneting and reconnecting the app. If this still doesn't work further troubleshooting should be done by them. If there is any error message that shows the issue is from Etsy's end, I can then send it to our technical team to get that checked. However, until then you may need to connect with them."
(Yesterday I disconnected and reconnected the Sync with Etsy app in both chrome and firefox, incognito windows, cleared cache a number of times, with both QBO and Etsy chat technicians.) Problem persists.
QBO online chat response:
Based on the message you have received, if the Integration is successfully connected to Sync With Etsy, we actually have the access to their Account. But since the Transactions isn't importing to QuickBooks, it only means that there is an error pulling up any Transactions on their Sync With Etsy. Successful Integration does not means that the problem is within QuickBooks. It is successfully connected but we are unable to pull up Transactions on their Account.

Upon our higher end checking the concern the problem is the app, so you need to contact your etsy app."
I, of course, sent this response to Etsy who then insisted, again, that it was QBO's fault. QBO, of course, answered that it was Etsy's fault.
A TOTAL NIGHTMARE. I just want my Etsy transactions to import into QBO correctly. I have lost HOURS of valuable time trying to find a solution for a bug that no one will take responsibility for.
I am having the same problem. Since april 4th no sales have been imported.
I have called quickbooks and etsy twice and they keep sending me back and forth to eachother.
I am having the same issue since april 4th as well. Contacted quickbooks and etsy multiple times and no one has any answers.
Have you found anything new out?
The Sync with Etsy app is obviously broken. Who is the developer of the app? Does anyone maintain it? Are they aware of the problem? Who do we contact for support if not Quickbooks?
The app will import fees from the transactions but not the sales data. Something broke on April 4th and reconnecting to Etsy does not help. It is still connected but not importing all of the data. Importing transactions manually is a nightmare. Why pay for QBO if I have to import everything myself?
Same. Since 04 April sales receipts are not being imported.
@AlexAlex1 @sabrinaembroidery @ashley827261 @hautecreations
Use a paid connector for the time being as a workaround.
https://partnerstack.synder.com/quickbooks
As an additional option, use a backup restore app before connecting the app with QBO.
https://partnerwithus.rewind.com/quickbooks
No luck. Same problem persists. AND etsy and QBO just keep blaming each other. Most recent response from Etsy:
"I work on Etsy's Developer Support Team. Tapanjoth passed your email to me so that I could follow up with you about your concern.
I understand that your Quickbooks-online integration is not working as expected. Checking your account I see that Quickbooks-online is successfully integrated with your shop on our end.
I have also checked our logs and can confirm that Quickbooks is successfully making calls to your shop. Please remember that these types of services are built off of our platform—meaning that Etsy isn’t the party that exports data. Instead, it’s up to Quickbooks to ensure that they are successfully making requests to our server to retrieve your orders or update listings. I know you have already reached out to Quickbooks. However, because they coded the integration they will be best equipped to investigate this issue."
Beyond tedious and frustrating....
@KlentB @Kevin_C
As of April 3, 2023, Etsy deprecated v2 of their APIs in favor of v3.
There's zero chance it's just a coincidence that all of our Etsy QBO integrations stopped working that night. Intuit/QBO officially develops/supports this sync. Can you please escalate these messages to a team to check into this?
Again, everyone using this integration is facing this issue...even if they haven't yet realized it yet. The finger-pointing may be true (yes, Etsy did deprecate v2 of the API), but they've been working on this for years, so Intuit has had plenty of time to work something out.
Please, get it together for the sake of your customers and get this integration running again.
Welcome to the Community, and thank you for joining the thread to share information, @atgrace90. Know that this isn't the experience we want you to have.
I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Online Support Team. This way, we can create a case informing the product development team about this update you received for Etsy.
To speak with one of our experts from QuickBooks Online Support. Please follow the steps below to contact support:
1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company. Select Help (?).
2. Select either tab: Assistant or Talk to a Human.

Moreover, you can always refer to our Help Articles for further assistance whenever you need it. There are a variety of QuickBooks-related topics and instructions here.
Feel free to reply to this post if you need further assistance. Have a great day ahead!
Ok, that is a non-answer. It only means you have not read any of my posts on this string and that is frustrating, to say the least.
I spent HOURS on chat with the QBO support team the other day (read my above posts). I was assured, over and over again "that we would get to the bottom of this". After about TWO hours, the higher tech team was consulted and guess what?? They assured me it was Etsy's problem. I was simultaneously online with Etsy higher tech team. Guess what? They assured me it was QBO's fault. After so many hours wasted on this issue, it is insulting for you to write suggestions that are empty and repetitive. Non-solutions.
There are a number of us experiencing this problem. The Sync with Etsy app is not working correctly. It began April 4th. Sales transactions are no longer being imported. Neither side is taking responsibility. Meanwhile, we, the users, are having our intelligence insulted and our time wasted with QBO forum replies like this: "Moreover, you can always refer to our Help Articles for further assistance whenever you need it. There are a variety of QuickBooks-related topics and instructions here." CLEARLY WE HAVE DONE THIS. CLEARLY THE SOLUTION IS NOT TO BE FOUND THERE.
For reference, this is where Etsy references closing V2 APIs:
https://www.etsy.com/developers/documentation/
And for reference, here are the Sync WIth Etsy app reviews showing that on the same day that the v2 APIs were shut down, sales transactions stopped syncing correctly.
Here is the announcement about v2 APIs being deprecated as of April 3, 2023:
https://www.etsy.com/developers/documentation/
Here are the Sync With Etsy app reviews that started rolling in rapidly after April 3 about the app no longer syncing sales transactions.
https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/appdetails/sync_etsy/en-us/
For the record, I sat on QB chat for an hour, just to try to formally notify them that their app integration is broken, so they could send the info to the relevant team. Total waste of my time. After an hour of back and forth I had to move on, so hopefully they will still get the message to the right person/team. But why is there not an easier way to report the issue? To all QB support people on this thread, please just notify whoever works on the Sync with Etsy app to please fix it. We rely on it for our businesses.
It'd also be great if we could get some sort of acknowledgement here that they are working on it.
