This may be related to the issue that is causing account registers to no longer work.
Try running QuickBooks with administrator privileges. Another customer indicated that worked for them.
Right click the QuickBooks Icon on your desktop and pick Run as administrator.
This solved the report crashing problem but causes other problems ie. I can't email invoices when I run as administrator. Support tells me they are escalating a fix.
We had the same issue the past few days. After checking quite a few things it turned out to be a conflict with Roboform. If you are running Roboform, go to your task manager and shut it down and QB should work normally. I use Roboform all day so this isn't really a fix for me, I just figured out what was causing it.
None of that fixed our issue. Our QB crashed when opening QB and we could not open the register for any account. It turned out to be a conflict with Roboform. FYI, I just ran a roboform update last week so it's likely on their end.
We're having this issue too, and it IS caused by Roboform (I mistakenly thought it wasn't at first because I had closed Roboform on the task bar and still had the issue). I had to end a Roboform task in task manager to finally be able to have reports open without crashing.
Interestingly, on a different computer running the same version of Roboform, we are NOT having the report crashing problem in Quickbooks. I hope Roboform fixes this soon!
Hello,
I been working on this problem all weekend. Yes, you are right, RoboForm is the problem. What you can do is download the previous version which the 8.9.1 at this website
https://ai-roboform.en.uptodown.com/windows/versions
Just download and run the program, no need to manually uninstall
This fixed my 3 computers that run QB2019
Thanks
Rick
Thank you so much. That was it. RoboForm.
Thanks for confirming that (Roboform wants to blame Quickbooks). However, I'm uncomfortable about downloading software from a link that is not from Roboform). Do you know if Roboform hosts links to the prior versions?
the problem is with Roboform, it updated to a newer version and the new version is not compatible with QuickBooks. uninstall Roboform and it is working no issues
Here's a link to a prior version directly from Roboform:
https://www.roboform.com/dist/RoboForm-Setup-8-9-1-1.exe
They are working on a fix, but this should do for now.
I put in a support ticket, and Roboform admitted it was an issue on their end.
Here's what they said:
Thank you for reporting your issue. We were able to reproduce it and are working with our developers to get it resolved. We expect it to be fixed shortly.
Meanwhile you can use this link to install RoboForm 8.9.1.1: https://www.roboform.com/dist/RoboForm-Setup-8-9-1-1.exe
See my note above with a link from Roboform that will fix the issue temporarily while they fix the issue.
I'm having the same problem. Every time I try to run ANY report; QBs crashes. AND now I have problems going to the merchant services center; as soon as I log into the merchant center and try to manage a recurring payment I get 'Error Occurred - Unable to load the page. Please try again later.' ... all of this stuff worked a few days ago; and now QBs just crashes on all computers. It's VERY frustrating and making it impossible to get any work done!
I use Roboform as well; shutting the program down did not help at all. Once I went back to the older version it seems to be working; hopefully it will continue to work!
I'm running QBs 2020 on Windows 10 Pro; even with Roboform disabled I'm having the same problems.
I have the newest update to QBs 2020 and Windows 10 Pro all installed; and I still have the problem. This is beyond frustrating when you can't run any reports or work in the merchant services area of the system!
Thanks for chiming in on the thread, rjjjbrown. Since you have already updated to the newest version, installed Windows 10 Pro, and disable the Roboform, I want us to test to see if you have a broken user. Basically, we are going to inactive your current user profile and set up the same permissions and access with this "new user." You will need to log in as admin to make these changes. Here's how to create a new user:
The next steps will show you how to make the user inactive.
If you are currently using the Admin profile, changing the Password should reformat and have the same effect as a new user.
Once completed these steps, log in to your company file and run the reports that you need.
As far as accessing the online Merchant Service Center, I would recommend clearing your cache to see if there is any browser-related issue. After a while, the collection of data, stored cookies, and so forth can cause corruption, and loading a new connection/page could resolve this.
If the issue persists, I encourage you to contact our Support Team and Merchant Service. They have the tools to investigate the situation and take a more in-depth look into this. Here's how to connect to with:
Keep me posted and let me know how this goes. Add a comment below if you have any other questions. I'm always here to help you out. Have a good day!
You have to shut it down from Task Manager for it to 'fix' the issue.
You can download the old version directly from Roboform here: https://bit.ly/3hiFJkX
I strongly recommend you use the link directly from Roboform, since you can't tell where shortlinks are sending you:
The latest version of Roboform (8.9.3.3) fixed the issue.
