File | Print Forms | Pay Stubs default sort order changed with PR Release and there is no way that I can find to change it back to employee name only. Any suggestions?

I'd be glad to offer my assistance with changing back the employee name.

 

I'm going to provide steps with how to change the employee's name below.

 

To change an employee's name:

  1. Choose Employees, then Employee Center.
  2. Double-click the employee's name.
  3. On the Personal tab, enter the correct employee name under Legal Name.
  4. Click on OK.

Thank you for the reply, but:

 

This was not an "incorrect" name issue, it is a "sort order" issue within Quickbooks when doing the specific task of printing pay stubs (see pay stubs image). That displayed list always used to reflect in employee name order only. It now uses something else, and that something else does not display on the screen, nor can I change the order shown. I believe the something else is "Class" but hard to verify for sure. Anyway, I need to get that displayed list back into the employee name sort order, I will take first or last name, but currently it is doing neither! I use this feature to e-mail pay stubs to selected people each payroll. the loss of this feature added about 8-10 minutes to my processing time.

Hello there, @TomW.

 

Let's locate and delete the paysub.ini file. Deleting this file resolves system issues. Here's how:

 

  1. In QuickBooks Desktop download location, type paysub in the search field,then press Enter.
  2. Right-click the paysub file and select Delete.
  3. Click Ok.
  4. Repeat the steps for all paysub.ini or paysub files found.

 

Once done, download the latest payroll update. Then, open the pay stubs again.
