Reconnecting your credit card account in QuickBooks is my priority, @nilaynpatel.

When you disconnect an account from online banking, it'll stay active. QuickBooks just stops downloading new transactions. Since you encounter issues with reconnecting the account, let's perform some troubleshooting steps so you can get back to working order.

Before we start, did you receive an error message when trying re-link your credit card account? Any additional information would help us give the best resolution base on the error received.

To get started, let's try logging in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private browser. This way, we can check if it's a browser data issue.

Here's how:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + N on your keyboard for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox
  • Press Command + Shift + N for Safari

Once logged in, go back and try to reconnect your credit card account again to double-check.

If this works, it means that you need to clear the browser's cache so the system can start fresh.

If they get the same result while using a private browser, I recommend switching to a different one.

Just in case your credit card transactions won't download, you can check out this article for the detailed steps and information to fix it: What to do if you see a bank error or bank transactions won’t download.

If you need any additional assistance while managing your credit card account, you can leave a comment below. I'll be sure to get back to you.

I'm having the same issue with Quickbooks online account, where business creditcard showsup connected in Manage my connection section and shows up in chart of accounts but not showing up at Banking section with any data and balance at chart of accounts shows 0.

I tried to disconnect and reconnect but during linking process, Quickbooks shows that you are already sharing data from bank including credit card. It doesn't give option to reconnect that credit card. I tried several different ways from Quickbooks and through my Chase bank. Called Quickbook customer care to create a case no but no solution over last  2 weeks.

I just solved this issue.  When you are on the screen that shows all of the accounts, it shows the credit card that was disconnected at the bottom saying that it is already sharing data.  This is because it was already linked, so the permission is already there.  all you have to do is click the "connect" button at the bottom (even though you never actually clicked on the account that it says is already sharing info) and it will allow you to re-connect that account that is already sharing the info.  I hold this helps somebody in the future because I just spent 2 hours on the phone with support and they were no help with this matter.  Then when I finally hung up on the I tried to connect the other accounts I was trying to connect, and when I clicked connect the account that was "already sharing data" was there for me to connect to an account in quickbooks.  Such a simply and easy fix that nobody at quickbooks was able to suggest or figure out.
