Hello, a hotel provided a refund to our credit card in the form of a credit. It is not showing on the information automatically linked by the account. How do I enter?

I've got your back, drylanddesignco!

I'm here to help enter the credit in QuickBooks Online.

To reflect the credit on your credit card account, you need to record the transaction through a journal entry. Make sure to consult your accountant for guidance before creating the entries. They can help verify if the accounts used are correct and your books accurate come tax time.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Plus icon and select Journal Entry.
  2. Enter the necessary information.
  3. In the first line of the Account column, choose the Credit card account you're using, then put the amount in the Debit column.
  4. Pick the Expense account in the second line and enter the amount in the Credit column.
  5. Click Save and Close

By doing these steps, you should be able to reflect the details you need.

I want to ensure you're able to reflect the transactions correctly in QBO, so please feel free to let me know how it goes. Cheering you and your business on continued prosperity.
