Hello,

QuickBooks really isn't designed or meant for personal finances.  I have personally spent hours trying to configure it for tracking personal finances and it's messy at best.

I'd honestly recommend a web-based solution designed for personal finances.  Intuit makes Mint which is good and also Quicken (though no longer owned by Intuit) just introduced a web-based version that comes with the subscription to the latest release.

Thanks for the quick response. Very sorry to hear this news. Yes, it seemed exceedingly messy. I may have to go back to using QB for desktop.

I'm not an Accountant by any means, but I'm going to have to disagree. I use QB Online for both my personal and business accounts. I use Classes, such as "Personal" and "Business" to separate all transactions accordingly. In my Chart of Accounts, I have some that work for both personal and business, then create custom ones that might only work for one or the other. Such as: Groceries, Car Lease Payment, Mortgage, etc. for Personal and "Office Rent, Marketing, Advertising, etc. for Business. It works great for me. Then, when it's time to send my P&L to my Accountant, I only send him the Business class and it removes all the personal data. Just my 2 cents.
