Help with Report Please? Estimates Transaction detail

If someone can help me create a report I would be grateful. I have used QB Desktop for 21 years and this one has me stumped. I have MANY different Estimates pending. Each customer orders x items on each estimate.
I am trying to find or create a report to

(Exclamation marks are just to show columns)

So I can Export to Excel and sort as I need:

Item#! Item Description ! Price ! Sales Rep ! PO Number ! Customer Job Name ! Estimate # ! Date!

You'll notice I need multiple items on same estimate and then multiple estimates same person.

ABC123456 ! Black Cat ! 12.99 ! ENE ! 123456 ! Smith, John ! 3631252 ! 12/05/2020

ABC123458 ! Blue Cat ! 12.99 ! ENE ! 123456 ! Smith, John ! 3631252 ! 12/05/2020

ABC123459 ! Green Cat ! 12.99 ! ENE ! 123459 ! Smith, John ! 3631259 ! 12/09/2020

ABC123456 ! Black Cat! 12.99! ENE ! 123460 ! Doe, Jane ! 3631260 ! 12/04/2020

I don't need

Smith, John

ABC123456 ! ENE ! 123456 ! 3631252 ! 12/05/2020

ABC123458 ! ENE ! 123456 ! 3631252 ! 12/05/2020

Doe, Jane

ABC123460 ! ENE ! 123460 ! 3631260 ! 12/04/2020

I am trying to track item numbers needed to make sure enough is ordered. It is important to have the customer name on same line as item# needed.

Can a kind soul help?

Help with Report Please? Estimates Transaction detail

Thanks for providing all the details regarding your concern, daxd.

Currently, we don't have a transaction detail report for estimates. We'll need to open each estimate to see the details.

  1. Click Customers at the top menu and select Customer Center.
  2. Go to the Transactions tab and select Estimates.
  3. Click Run Reports and select View as Report.
  4. Click on each estimate to see the details.

Once the estimate is added on an invoice, that's the time we can use the Sales by Item Detail report. This will show you the transaction details without going to each invoice.

  1. Click Reports on the left menu and select Sales.
  2. Click on Sales by Item Detail.
  3. Change the date range and click Refresh if necessary.

Meanwhile, there are different ways to keep track of your items in QuickBooks Desktop. You can use classes, locations, or inventory sites. You can use these links for reference:

Aside from that, QuickBooks Desktop also has an option to set a reorder point. This will let you know that the said item is low or out stocks.

  1. Click Edit at the top menu and select Preferences.
  2. Select Items & Inventory and go to the Company Preferences tab.
  3. Once your inventory is turned on, you'll have an option to mark the Warn if not enough inventory to sell.
  4. Click OK.

Then, we can already go to the item setup and enter the reorder point.

  1. Click Lists at the top menu and select Item List.
  2. Double-click on the inventory item and go to the INVENTORY INFORMATION section.
  3. Enter the Reorder Point and click OK.

Feel free to get back to us if you still need anything else.

? I am sorry but those proposed options aren't what is needed.

We need to know what items numbers and descriptions are needed to complete our estimate jobs.

We need a way to see the item number and description and the customer on the same line. *SIMPLE* request. If it can be done for invoices - why can't it be done for estimates?

Not even asking it to check against inventory to see if it is already on hand. I just need to tally items by item number from estimates. Simple.

Help with Report Please? Estimates Transaction detail

Hello there, daxd.

We'll need to open the estimate itself to be able to look into the details. You might want to pull up the reports mentioned by my colleague. Once you create the invoice out of the estimate you can pull up a sales report that will give the item's number and description by customer.

Let me know if you have other questions. Take care and have a great day!

I am sorry - I don't think I am being clear. I need a report that shows this: (information pulled from Estimates.) Pulling up estimates one by one by one and manually writing down each item that I need is what is being done now and is extremely time consuming. I need a report that can do this.

Thank you for clarifying your concern and sharing a screenshot, @daxd. And I'd like to end your issue here.

At this time, QuickBooks won't show the item number and description for an estimate on a report. As a workaround, you can consider opening each estimate and manually record the information that is not available on the report.

I understand that running and customizing reports that show the information you need for estimates is beneficial to you and your business. For now, you can visit our blog site so you'll be able to get the latest news about QuickBooks and what our Product Care Team is working on.

Please keep in touch if there's anything else I can do to help you succeed with QuickBooks. I've got your back. Have a great day!

Hello Daxd

Did Quickbooks do anything about your request?

I need a report just like that too. Otherwise the estimates are useless for us.

Can you please get back to me using our e mail address:

If not did you find a way to work around it?

Thank you.

Best wishes
