How are you tracking open estimates versus sold estimates

@Murfe1964, I would also like to have a report of estimates/quotes that were won vs lost. I want to know the percentage of my quotes that are being converted into orders. It would be great to be able to analyze this data by total number of quotes/estimates as well as by individual line items, quantities, and dollar amounts.

How are you tracking open estimates versus sold estimates

Hi there, @MarshallT

Please know that generating a report that shows all the details you want isn't possible in QuickBooks Desktop. We can run an Estimates for All Customers report and customize it to show the items and amounts. However, if you want to show all the specific details like the total number of estimates and quantities, we can export the report to Excel and sort it out.  Here's how:

  1. From the report, select the Excel ▼dropdown.
  2. Then click Create New Worksheet or Update Existing Worksheet.

  3. If you see a message that says your report has too many columns, select Advanced, then uncheck the Space between columns checkbox. Tap OK.
  4. When you’re ready to export, press OK.

From there, you can personalize your data further manually.

While the details you want to add aren't available within QuickBooks, you can submit your feedback to make the program better by going to Send Feedback Online on your QuickBooks Desktop.

You can stay up-to-date with the latest news about your product by reviewing Intuit's Product Updates webpage.

I'll be in the Community space if you have follow-up questions about running reports in QuickBooks. Simply leave your reply and I'll make sure to get back to you as quickly as I can.

How are you tracking open estimates versus sold estimates

Hello @Murfe1964 @SteveBSME @MarshallT

I've attached an image of a third-party application for QuickBooks. It displays estimates, linked invoices, and utilizes essential data fields like Offering Status and Reject Cause.

Sales Insight Navigator.png

Summary & Estimates:

1. "Offering Status": Displays the count of Estimates categorized by their status. Enables filtering data based on these statuses.

2. "Reject Cause": Indicates the count of Estimates categorized by the reasons for rejection. Allows filtering data based on rejection causes.

3. "Customer": Displays the count of Estimates grouped by Customer/Job. Enables filtering data based on customers/jobs.

4. "Active": Indicates the count of Estimates marked as active or inactive. Allows filtering data based on active status.

Estimates & Transactions:

5. "Open Balance": Reflects the current Open Balance associated with the Estimate.

6. "Invoices": Indicates the number of linked Invoices connected to the Estimate.

7. "Active": Allows viewing or managing the flag indicating the active status of the Estimate.

8. "Offering Status": Enables viewing or modifying the status of the Estimate. Custom statuses can be inputted.

9. "Reject Cause": Enables viewing or modifying the reason for rejection associated with the Estimate. Example reasons include "Competitors Offer Lower Price", "Limited Customization Options", etc. Custom values can be set as needed.

Normal QuickBooks Reports:

Your standard QuickBooks reports include additional details:

  1. "Offering Status": QuickBooks stores the status information related to the Estimate.
  2. "Reject Cause": QuickBooks stores the cause information related to the Estimate.

  2. "Reject Cause": Custom field within QuickBooks' Estimate to store and display the cause information.
