How do I add an email that can be used for receipt forwarding?

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, @joseph23.

Adding an email for receipt forwarding in QuickBooks Online (QBO) si pretty simple. This can be done by going to the Receipt tab in the Banking menu.

Before we proceed, please note that once you enter an email address, you can't change it.

  1. In QBO, go to the Banking menu at the left pane to get to the Receipts tab.
  2.  Select Customize email.
  3. This is where you set the customized email address ending @qbodocs.com. For example, myname@qbodocs.com.
  4. Follow the onscreen instruction to complete.

To learn more about emailing receipts in QBO, I suggest checking out this article: Email receipts and bills to QuickBooks Online.

Reach out to me in the comment section below if you have any additional concerns or questions. I'll be here to answer them. Have a wonderful day!

How do I add an email that can be used for receipt forwarding?

I know how to get an email address to forward receipts to.  I have that.  What I want to do is add email addresses that I can forward receipts from.  Currently, the email address where I have most of the receipts is not allowed to forward receipts so they are all rejected by QB.  How can I fix that?

How do I add an email that can be used for receipt forwarding?

Hi there, joseph23.

Thank you for coming back here to the QuickBooks Community. I appreciate you for providing detailed information so I can share accurate details.

For users to send receipts and bills, they need to be a standard user with vendors' permissions. That said, it could be that the email addresses you're trying to enter are not for the users in QuickBooks Online. I suggest going to the Manage user section and double-check if the emails are already there. If not, you can add the owners of the email as the standard user so you're able to add them for forwarding receipts.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks with a user profile as Master admin that has permission to manage users.
  2. Select the Gear ⚙ icon. Then, choose  Manage users.
  3. Click the Edit link to check each email address.
  4. If you can't locate the email address, click the Add user.
  5. Select a user type. Then select NextNote: Some roles count toward your user limit.
  6. Select the access rights for the user. Then select Next
  7. Enter the user’s name and email address. Then, hit Save.

For additional information, you can refer to this article: Add and manage users in QuickBooks Online.

Once done, go back to the Receipts page and try to add the email addresses. To see additional details, you can click this article: Email receipts and bills to QuickBooks Online.

Please open this article to view steps on how you can review, edit, and match those uploaded or sent images of receipts and bills to any existing transactions to avoid duplicates: Capture and categorize expense receipts and bills in QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know if you have more questions about emailing receipts or anything else related to QuickBooks. I'm around in the Community to help you. Take care and stay safe always.

How do I add an email that can be used for receipt forwarding?

If the visa card/bank account is already set to autoload, will receipt forwarding duplicate the expense?  or will it hopefully know to apply the receipt to the applicable expense?

Hello there, WendySR.

Receipts are manually added or matched with your transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO). It will not cause a duplicate to your expenses unless you have mistakenly added them instead of matching them to an existing transaction.

Read this article to become more familiar with how receipt forwarding works in QBO: Email receipts and bills to QuickBooks Online.

How do I add an email that can be used for receipt forwarding?

I am trying to setup the email address for my users to forward their receipts to, but I do not have this option:

 Select Customize email.

The only options I have are: Upload from Computer, Upload from Google Drive.

Any suggestions?

What if is a "noreply" email from a scanner cloud service for which you don't have access to accept the invitation to create the profile?

How do I add an email that can be used for receipt forwarding?

Hi henvil!

Thanks for joining this thread. Let me assist you with the receipt feature.

When using the Receipts feature, you are required to create a custom email. This is where you'll send the receipts and bills to QuickBooks Online and the system will extract the data for you. It'll depend on you what's the format of your custom email.

You can find the detailed steps here: Email receipts and bills to QuickBooks Online.

Also, if what you meant is the email your users received after adding them to your QuickBooks Online account, it is an invitation and they need to confirm it. That way, they can have their own login credentials that they'll use to sign in. This article will explain more about user permission and how to manage them: Add and manage users in QuickBooks Online.

If you used a third-party scanner, you'll want to seek some help from them about this email.

I've added some links you can check. This can help you to easily download and categorize the bank transactions:
