There are many option in the market including the free one to replace your QBO. Contact us in private for details.
This means the autopay feature isn't an option. We want to use the AUTOPAY option by credit card however, once initiated we will be paying the credit processing and will not be able to collect from our client which stinks. Even Square and Clover I believe has options to add it if payee chooses to use a card (with a disclosure).
It doesn't matter if that's all "you" can do. You have paying customers that have freaking common sense. Fix your platform to do simple, INTUITIVE, things that are expected by any normal business. #CompletelyUnacceptable
As simple as this feature seems, there is apparently a whole legal battlefield surrounding it.
Read this article to learn more.
https://www.merchantmaverick.com/credit-card-surcharges/
It is illegal in some states to include this surcharge and several steps required to implement it.
I suppose the reason why QBO is taking it's time to roll this out is because of negotiations and legal issues that need to be sorted through. It may never be released.
The article recommends increasing prices (to offset the fees) and offering cash discounts (back to the original price) instead.
Nothing in life is ever easy. :(
I have yet to speak to or chat with a "Customer Support" representative who ACTUALLY communicates in a way that can problem solve issues QUICKly. It feels like the Support reps are just clicking along with the "bot" for answers that are scripted for them. I have used QB since 2006 and know the difference between their old support and new system. It is Totally disappointing, to say the least.
I am reading this thread written 3 year ago. Has QB ever resolved this? Added this feature? It is something in high demand.
Does anyone know of other applications that WILL do this? We need to resolve this one quickly.
Thanks.

We need this simple feature.
In the meantime - can anyone recommend an application that will serve this purpose? I will need to move to another app.

If you are running a B2B company, you can utilize a 3rd party payment processor for free with this feature to integrate with QBO. Otherwise, you can utilize a 3rd party merchant service to replace your QB Payment account.
Hi:
Were you able to discover a software that addresses the processing fee situation? Did anyone recommend an accounting software? I am in the same boat, and am very frustrated/disappointed with QBO at this point due to the payment processing function and amount of busy work their "solution" would cause. HORRIBLE! Here's to hoping they fix the issue immediately or someone has found a software that makes this option more feasible... would love to offer the pay online option to our customers but this is thoroughly insane.

Hi;
B2C ~ Business to customer. Would love to offer the Paynow option but the process to pass the CC fees off to the customer is painful to say the least. Have you found an accounting software that works?
How do I contact you to learn more about a different program to offer the PAY NOW option to our customers and automatically apply a convenience fee if they choose to PAY NOW versus sending a check... The QBO process is awful and ridiculous.

The link to your website appears to take me to a QB site. I am looking for a 3rd party merchant service provider that addresses the issues in QBO and their inability to automate the process. In addition to not penalizing the customer or business by adding a convenience fee to the invoice that wouldn't even cover the entire processing fee that is charged. Many clients are reporting the issues with the suggested way to handle the CC fees should a customer pay with that method, but none of them are streamlined, add a ton of extra work, and doesn't actually fix the problem since you would fall into the trap of having the customers payment towards the calculated processing fee not actually cover the entire fee or invoicing them again without the "pay now" option so they would send a check to cover the second invoice for just the convenience fee. It's a ton of busy work and completely insane way to go about business when you invoice 100's of customers. Not to mention it isn't really convenient to them or us... I am baffled that this has not been fixed by QB developers. There have been so many complaints and great options on how QB could implement it.
Thank you for the information. I have been told that this is the best way QBO has to offer in order to try to pass on the convenience fee to the customer. This is not a lucrative way to handling the processing fees for so many reasons. All discussed in this thread, and complained about by so many for so long... I would have expected this to be addressed by now in a manner that is actually convenient to the customer & client. I am very disappointed. We pay a lot of money per month for our QBO account, and this hiccup has really soured my belief in QB being the best accounting software for our business and our customers.
1.) Passing on the convenience fee to the customer in the way you suggested will not even cover the entire processing fee since QB would be charging a fee on the convenience fee which would then mean the amount the customer is paying is less then the total amount.
2.) Billing the customer a second time to collect a payment for a convenience fee without the option to pay now but to send a check would cause more work for the customer and completely defeats the purpose of a CONVENIENT pay now method. Also, it causes us (the business) to bill them twice _ this is more work for our customer and your clients.
3.) Manually adding the convenience fee to each customer ADDS to the workload.
4.) Manually deducting the convenience fee from an invoice if the customer chose to pay by check instead ADDS more to the workload.
5.) we businesses that are allowed to pass the fee on the customer are being penalized because some states aren't allowed to, but shouldn't there be an option to TURN ON this function if you are legally able to.
6.) Why make a ton of extra work for the clients, and additional confusion or payments from the customer.
7.) There are so many people that have posted about this issue for years ~ Why has it not been fixed?
8.) I am paying almost $200 a month for QBO and am very disappointed.
9.) The time it would take to address the convenience fee could/should and needs to be spent elsewhere.
10.) the work around that is being offered is anything but convenient.
Please resolve this issue right away. At this time I don't see being able to offer the "pay now" option to our customers as a lucrative option. This is sad in todays day & Age.
More than likely this is a HUGE source of revenue for Quickbooks. Them still being the biggest means they don't fear losing customers. A class action where they have to pay their customers back, however, might just provide some motivation.
Here in August 2022, and looks like QB refuses to address this issue that is costing their customers big time. I wonder how much money QB has made through the years by ignoring this very simple fix that every other payment platform has easily figured out. Perhaps you should change your name to SLOW Books.
I signed up for merchant services again thinking this problem would have been resolved by now! Needless to say it has not been resolved five years later!! I will be searching for another option immediately. Any suggestions?
If you find an alternate, will you let me know? I'm still looking myself because I'm tired of being ignored by QuickBooks and paying for their half-baked tech that is riddled with bugs and made by people who obviously don't use it. I haven't found what I'm looking for in a competitor yet sadly.
Agree - they obviously don't care. We need a competitor.
The only language corporations like this understand is litigation, so I agree.

Which one do you need? A 3rd party merchant service to integrate with QB or else?
