Buy nowHello,
I have recently downloaded the Advanced Inventory Module in Quickbooks Enterprise. What I am trying to do is add multiple lot numbers to one item. For example, I have item #766837. This item has lot numbers 7001 & 0001 each with different quantities. How do I make this happen?
Thank you !!
Lindsay
Welcome and thanks for posting your concern here in the Community, @LindsayB1.
You can add multiple lot numbers to one item. I'll show you how:
Once done, confirm the accuracy of your entries by running the Serial/Lot Numbers in the Inventory report.
You can check out this article for further insights about using serial or lot numbers in Quickbooks.
Keep in touch if you have additional concerns. I'd be happy to get back and help again.
Hello,
Thank you!
I tried this- the only problem I have, is that when I go to "Save & Close", QB says I cannot record a blank transaction.
Do you know why this is popping up? I have all of the fields filled in.
Thank you !!
Lindsay
hello,
Thank you for the answer !
I tried this, however, Quickbooks is telling me I cannot record a blank transaction when I try to save and close.
Do you know why this is? It looks like I have everything filled out.
Thank you !
Hello again, @LindsayB1.
I appreciate you getting back and providing updates when following the steps above.
To isolate the issue of why you're unable to save, let's try adding multiple lot numbers to one item to the sample file in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). This way you'd know if your company file is damaged.
To get a sample file, here's how:
If you were able to save without getting any error message using the sample file, I recommend running the Verify Rebuild Data tool that helps identify and repair data issues within your company file. But before doing so, let's ensure that your QuickBooks Desktop is updated to the latest release and create a backup of your company file.
Once updated, here's what you'll need to do:
For more details about the Verify/Rebuild process, check this article: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.
Once done, check to see if everything is working now.

Please let me know how things go on your end. I want to ensure this gets resolved for you. Take care.
