Dear Quickbooks,
I wish I had realized this as I am trying to complete a years worth of books for a small business and I just paid for the Mac for desktop version.
It is entirely onerous to enter an entire set of data with out dates, and export to excel and re import. In what world is it even remotely conceivable that every bill would get entered on the day it was received.
Is there a a work around for this? If not I may have to request my money back, as it makes this program entirely useless for me.

Not a workaround, but a setting, BeauSun Design Build.
Entering a wrong date will make your records inaccurate, and this is a No-No in recording financial transactions. There's a setting in QuickBooks that lets you use today's date as a default. We can disable that option so you can enter past dates. I'll walk you through the steps.
On the other hand, you may want to check some content on the QuickBooks Blog page. We posted articles relevant to our situation today.
Please feel free to share some news after changing the transaction date preference.
Jess
Hello,
I'm having the same issue whereby I cannot enter transactions with an older (previous) date. I've been using Quickbooks for over 10 years and this is the first version of QB in which I've encountered this problem. THIS MUST BE FIXED! Having to change the system date in your OS preferences is a ridiculous solution.
Thank you,
Greg
Good day, Greg.
I understand that you need to enter transactions with the previous dates. You'll want to perform the steps shared by JessT by disabling the option where QuickBooks uses today's date as a default.
Another workaround is by importing an Excel file QuickBooks. QuickBooks will use the date based on what's in the file.
I'll be here if you need anything else. Have a great day!
