This makes sense! We keep getting the same replies from the support every single time and I'm sick of it. To be fair, it's not their fault entirely. And I just noticed that the title is ".. on QBO ADVANCED". OK ADVANCED!!!
any update on this?
This is why I never like the online version. this is unbelievable that we can not customize the po. My vendor requested to put the terms on po now what should I do now??? then what I'm paying for ??
Has this still not been developed further? I'm trying to figure out how to set my purchase orders to show at least one of the product or the SKU so that they can tell what exactly I'm trying to order.

It's amazing that anyone is willing to actually be employed by Intuit to churn out these form letter responses to angry customers expecting basic functionality from the products we're paying money for. I can't imagine having to C&P total nonsense knowing that it's just going to anger the person you're responding to.
I wish I'd have known how much of a joke QBO was before deciding to use it over Enterprise for our new company. I'd assumed that since Intuit hasn't made any improvements or changes to Enterprise in nearly a decade that development time was being focused on the online offering.
Apparently Intuit just doesn't isn't investing in development time at all instead.
How does this boilerplate PO format even make sense? We issue POs for products, not services. Using QBO boilerplate makes us look like amateurs to our vendors.
Hi. I can see what you've been through about dealing with the PO format.
Please know that our goal is to help users save time and provide the best QuickBooks experience while doing tasks to your account.
If you haven't already, you can send more feedback to our product developers to request that the option you prefer to be included when issuing POs to your vendors. This allows them to evaluate the suggestions and might add them to their future product updates.
You can also visit our feedback forum to see the list of other users suggested.
Further, when your vendor accepts your PO, you may record it as a bill or expense. Please use the following link to be guided: Add purchase orders to expenses, bills, or checks in QuickBooks Online. This guide contains tips and tricks for effectively managing your payables.
Do you have any additional questions about the PO or your vendors? You can always include my name in your response. I'll be there to assist you in resolving the issue.
I appreciate you for reaching out to us with your attachment, @LMaynJJM.
As I've seen your attached purchase order file, may I know what specific concern you're having when creating a PO? This way, we'll be able to identify and further provide you with a resolution to help you in resolving your issue.
If you're referring to the customizations on the purchase orders, you'll want to consider checking out this article: Create and edit custom fields in QuickBooks Online Advanced.
If you're referring to something else, please don't hesitate to get back in on this thread. We'll gladly assist you further. Take care.
The specific issue is the size of the Description column. It needs to be wider so it can be readable.
We're glad to see you again in the forum, @LMaynJJM. Thanks for joining the thread.
I understand the convenience of having the ability to modify the size of the Description column. The template for PO will always be the default and the width will depend on how it is divided in the columns selected in the template. Currently, the option to customize purchase orders (PO) in QuickBooks Online has its limits, specifically in width adjustments. Your idea is great just to be set aside. As we value your suggestions, I recommend sending your feedback to our Product Development Team. Here is how:

We want the ability to customize PO's as well, and with enough votes, it will be put on their radar to change.
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS...Listen to your customers and allow custom POs. They have been asking for years now.
Your PO is ugly.
Your PO is not functional.
Your PO is not relevant.
Your PO goes to people serving our business. It needs to have branding.
Honestly, it looks like something I made out of word ten years ago.
Can you at least tell me how to get that bloomin signature line off (I am hoping that is at least resolved since customers have been asking since 2019)
And how to add the memo that is on the actual Purchase Order???
PLEASE VOTE FOR QB TO LISTEN!!!
The default template for PO will always be the standard choice, and currently, there are limitations to customizing purchase orders (PO), specifically removing the signature line in QuickBooks Online. Instead of disregarding your excellent idea, we encourage you to send your feedback to our Product Development Team, as we highly value your suggestions. Here's how you can do it:

@JamesAndrewM I appreciate your response, but let me please inform you that your feedback button has its own bugs and fails to work quite often.
And let's be honest with each other....at this point, the feedback is futile. You have adequate feedback over the course of several years that should let the product manager know that the current PO is not meeting many customer needs. It a major customer flow document in any business set up that should match other documents in your customer sales flow with branding at a minimum. POs have specific needs for Vendors just as Invoices have specific needs for Customers. The PO in this platform was an afterthought and hasn't been thought of much since.
I was a software product manager for 20 plus years. If the Product Manager was being customer driven in the priorities of the product, this would most definitely already be on the list.
Really? $2,000 a year for an accounting app that does not let you customer purchase orders?
QBO STAFF, STOP SUGGESTING THE EFFING FEEDBACK BUTTON, IT DOESNT BLOODY WORK. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE? I HAVE SENT 100'S OF REQUESTS OVER THE YEARS, AND IT NEVER BLOODY DOES ANYTHING.
STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP suggesting that people use the feedback button!!!!!
People need to be able to add terms and conditions, and other items. your customisation tools DO NOT ALLOW THAT, thet are crap beyond belief. Stop suggesting we submit feedback, we have, and it NEVER goes anywhere. NEVER, nobody ever comes back to you, EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are even phasing out the option to upload Word templates, this is comical, that was working fine. All you need to do is add this to the PO creation function an preferably the SO creating function as well. THIS IS BEYOND A BLOODY JOKE NOW.
Dear Fellow Users,
I encourage you to email the Intuit board of directors directly and voice your concerns:
I have emailed a wider list this morning, and removed the bounce backs from the above. In numbers, we have strength, dont let them remove the EZ Mao fields customisations as well, which are scheduled for removal totally in the coming months WITH NO REPLACEMENTS.
Regards,
WebSolProv
It is ridiculous that you cannot customize Purchase Orders.
Will you please STOP with the Feedback Button nonsense! Users have been requesting a feature to customize purchase orders for years, and these requests are discarded in the circular file.
