Hi there, @morethanmulchsup.
At the moment, the option to add a phone number on the invoice in QuickBooks Online is unavailable. You'll want to add the phone number in the billing address section or add it directly to the other sales information.
Here's how:
You can check out this article to learn more about adding a customer's phone number to the sales transaction.

yes, thank you for your help
Has anyone fixed this problem yet?
Thanks for joining this thread, @Enzo.
I recognize how convenient it is to add a customer's phone number to an invoice. At this time, the said option is unavailable. And we can't provide updates as to when this feature will be rolled out.
You may consider adding the phone number in the billing address section or entering it directly into your other sales information as a workaround.
QuickBooks developers always search for ways to improve user experience by promoting helpful and efficient features and functionalities to streamline processes that suit your business needs. By this, I recommend sending feedback so they can determine what features to be added for future enhancements.
Here’s how:
You can track your feedback through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.

Thanks, I reported the feedback. The trouble with that workaround is that it interferes with my mailing list. Unless if you know another way to get the phone number and email address on the invoices and packing list that doesn't interfere with mailing lists.
You would think that having the customer's email and phone number on an invoice is basic. I had to use my custom field to put the customer's phone number on the invoice so we can phone them and reference it. I would think quickbooks had enough time to add this simple but necessary feature
How is not providing the phone number field for an invoice not a standard? This is the most basic database function. I highly recommend that QB spend 15 minutes and solve this problem.
Seems like the very very basics are too complicated for this company
It's now Dec 2023 and I can't believe QB has not enabled a way for the Forms (Invoices and Estimates) to have the client's phone number and or email address. I hope this gets updated in a near future update release.
It has been years. Such a simple request, we constantly have to edit estimates or invoices because we forgot the phone number. We only collect email, phone and name when we add a customer. No I don't bother to double entry this information in address block. It's a poor workaround, and we created boxes on the forms, but there is no way to auto populate. We are always finding that we have to go edit every estimate or invoice and add this informantion in manually. It was ok as a workaround for a couple of years, but it's been numerous years. When I select the name of the customer, the fields "Phone Number" and "Email Address" should auto populate on the forms.
Stop adding features and start fixing the basic expected functionality. I have created tickets for issues that are broken in My version of QBO only to be added to a query for over a year and then receive an email that there is no fix and it affects only a small amount of people. Irratate enough people and other options are starting to look good.
We hear you, Robert.
Currently, we can only auto-populate the email address section and not the phone number in the estimate and invoice form.
I see that the workaround suggested for entering the phone number in the billing address section is no longer feasible on your end. However, we appreciate the effort in utilizing this workaround.
In the meantime, I recommend submitting feedback to our Product Engineers, letting them know how this feature is useful on your end.

EXACTLY!!
Is it not possible to just link a field to the invoice that will print the phone number? All these very inconvenient update that more than doubled my clicks to accomplish a task is a waste of my time. You could have fixed a problem that clearly many users need fixed.
The team in charge of development needs to be fired. They are making this product inefficient and unusable.
You can create a custom field for your customer's contact number, @Enzo. I know how to do this. Let me share it with you.
To display your customer's contact number when printing an invoice, I suggest adding a custom field to your sales forms. To proceed, here's how:
In addition, I suggest providing feedback to our development team requesting the inclusion of a customer's contact number on invoices without a custom field. Know that our developers are working hard to improve our product to meet our customers' needs. To send a message, use the following steps:
