That's a good observation, Todd18. Let me explain how it works.
When you pull up the invoice, you'll see the linked bill. This is because it's a billable expense. On the bill, you can find the linked PO, since the transaction is originally copied from the latter.
You can pull up the Transaction List by Customer report. You'll know if an invoice is linked to a bill if you can see a Billable Expense Charge. Just open the invoice to view the linked/attached transaction.
I'll include a screenshot for better guidance.
You can customize the report to help you focus on the details that you need.

Sorry, posting a question gives me limited space, and I was not able to explain.
I have no problem tracking an invoice back to the original PO. (click on the linked transactions.)
What I am asking is: how do I track a PO down to the invoice it's linked to?
From the Purchase Order, I can click on "1 linked transaction" to take me to the bill that I created from the PO. No problem.
However, from the bill, I can only get back to the PO. There is no way to find out "What invoice has this billable expense on it?"
At best, I can pull up the report you suggested, and look at the dates for bills, but I can't find a direct way to start with a PO and find out "what invoice is this linked to?"
Obviously there is a link, because I can start with the invoice, and navigate my way back to the PO, so why can't I do it in the other direction?
Thank you.
Happy Friday, @todd18.
Thank you for following up. You can only pull the Transaction List by Customer as the last agent stated. This feature is not available at this time. I’m going to put in feedback for you.
