I'm here to ensure you can import an invoice that contains multiple line items. This way, you'll not be entering them manually.
You can upload an invoice by creating a spreadsheet, then download it in the Import Data window. You can either check what's required to import invoices or download the sample spreadsheet, then save it somewhere in your desktop so you can find it easily. Just make sure to fill in the required columns such as:
- Invoice number
- Customer
- Invoice date
- Due date
- Item amount
- Item tax code
- Tax rate (if you collect taxes)
Before we start , please make sure to add any new products, services, and customers in QuickBooks before you import the invoice. Since the invoice has multiple line items, see to it that each line entry has an invoice number, customer, invoice date, and other needed information.
Once ready, kindly follow these steps:
- Go to the Gear icon.
- Select Import Data.
- Choose Invoices.
- (Optional) Add new customers, under the Browse button.
- Map each of your column headings to the invoice fields. Fields with an asterisk (*) are required.
- Select Not applicable for any fields not in your spreadsheet.
- Choose the date format you used.
- Select Exclusive or Inclusive as your tax option.
- Click Next, then OK.
