I am not sure if my previous was posted. forgive me if I double post.
I have QuickBooks enterprise desktop 2019. Is there a way to make a report that shows the P&L of each sales receipt I enter?
Thank you in advance
You can pull up the Profit and Loss Detail report and customize it to show sales receipts only, Max Sales.
Let me guide you:
You'll then see the sales receipts per income/expense account. You can also memorize the report so you'll no longer go over to the same customization process.

Thank you for your fast reply. When I do that, I see the sales receipts, but how can I get the profit or loss for "each" sales receipt.
example:
Sales receipt #1234. I sold 1 widget at $10, my cost, from my inventory, is $5.00 per widget. I want a report that shows me that sales receipt #1234 gave me a profit of $5.00 on that widget.
Does that make sense?
Thanks
Hi Kristine, thank you for the fast response.
What I want to do is show what the profit or loss is on each sales receipt.
For example:
Sale Receipt #1234
I sold 1 widget for $10.
My inventory cost per widget is $5.00
So my profit on sales receipt #1234 is $5.00
I would like to be able to run a report showing all my sales receipts for a given time period and what profit or loss for each sales receipt. Not just a report showing my sales receipts, but one showing how much money I made on each sales receipt.
Does that make sense?
Thank you
Good Afternoon, @Max Sales.
Thanks for the clarification. At this time, there isn't a report to show you in-depth details of what was profit and loss on a sales receipt or multiple. However, I'll send feedback to our Product Developers so they can consider this in one of the upcoming releases.
