I am using Desktop Pro - how do I do that, I am not in QB online?
Hello, @QueenJean.
Let me show you the steps on how to set or change a closing date password in QuickBooks Desktop.
Here’s how:
1. In your QuickBooks Desktop, select the Company menu and choose Set Closing Date.
2. Select Set Date/Password.
3. Enter a Closing Date and Closing Date Password.
4. Once done, click OK to close the window.

What if you have forgotten your present password?
Thanks for joining this thread, calconst.
If you've forgotten your current Closing date password, you can change it to something new from the Account and settings screen. Detailed steps for doing so can be found in MichaelDL's post.
You'll also be able to find many detailed resources about using QuickBooks in our help article archives.
Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have a wonderful day!
