Hi @rodgershouses,

I'll be handling your query about a customer report. You'll have to run a customized Customer Balance Detail report to get this done.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Highlight Customers & Receivables.
  3. Select Customer Balance Detail.
  4. Press the Customize Report button.
  5. On the Display tab, search for Paid Date and put a check on it.
  6. Go to the Filters tab.
  7. On the search box, type in TransactionType.
  8. On the TransactionType drop-down menu, choose Payment.
  9. Hit OK.
  10. Edit your date range on the From and To boxes.

As an example, you can refer to the image below:

To have QuickBooks Desktop memorize your customized reports, follow the steps listed in this article: Create, access and modify memorized reports. You can also find the steps on how you can edit or delete a memorized report.

I'll be around in case you need further assistance. Drop a comment below, and I'll get back to you.

Thank you that was very helpful,  but the boss wants to also see the total income per customer.  Is there a way to see that on this report?  I know I can export into excel and then run the @sum function, but I have about 100 customers and 12 payments each per year.  I know I can run a sperate report with a total on each customer. I was just hoping to do it all in one.

Thanks for your advice. I am kind of new to QuickBooks and having a very hard time getting ready for taxes.

Hello there, @rodgershouses.

You'll want to follow the steps provided by the previous agent to pull up the total amount for each customer.

On the other hand, you can pull up Income by Customer Details to show the invoice/income that is paid.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports at the top menu.
  2. Select the Report Center.
  3. Type the Income by Customer Details,
  4. Search for Transaction Type, and select Invoice.
  5. Search for Paid Status, and select Closed.
  6. Click the OK button.

I'll be keeping an eye out for the response on this. Have a good one.
