How do I set up an account for preschool parents and their child/children? Some of the parents have more than one child so I need to be able to choose which child to bill

I'm glad to help set up an account for parents and their children in QuickBooks Online (QBO), userrlbminer.

QBO lets you create parent accounts and sub-accounts. And, I'm glad to provide the steps on how to do this:

1. Go to Settings ⚙, then select Chart of Accounts.
2. Click New to create a new account.
3. From the Account Type ▼ drop-down, choose an account type.
4. From the Detail Type ▼ drop-down, select the detail type that best fits the transactions you want to track.
5. Give your new account a name. 
6. Add a description.
7. Click Save and close.

And, here's for the sub-accounts:

1. Follow steps 1 - 6 I've provided above.
2. Select Is sub-account and then enter the parent account.
3. Click Save and close.

Also, you can use the parent as customer and their child as sub-customer. Just make sure to mark the Bill with parent box. This setting ensures that charges to the child's name are billed on invoices using the parent's name.

Add a the parent

1. Go to the Sales menu.
2. Go to the Customers tab
3. Click New Customer.
4. Enter your customer’s info.
5. Select Save.
   

Add a sub-customer

1. Go to the Sales menu.
2. Proceed to the Customers tab
3. Click New Customer.
4. Select the Is sub-customer checkbox.
5. Enter the sub-customer’s info.
6. In the Parent▼drop-down, select the parent account.
7. Mark Bill with parent.
   
   
8. Click Save.
