How do you make an estimate signature?

Welcome to the Community space, jeeper. I can share various ways to make an estimate signature.

As of now, adding a signature to an estimate is unavailable. As a workaround, look for a third-party app by going to the apps.intuit.website or navigating the Apps menu in your QuickBooks account. I'll show you how:

  1. Go to the Apps menu on the left pane.
  2. Select the Find Apps tab, then type a keyword in the search bar like E-signature.
  3. Click the magnifying glass and then choose the app that suits your needs.

Additionally, you can capture signatures using the QuickBooks Online mobile application. It allows you to add signatures manually through your phone using a digital pen or finger.

Otherwise, use the DocuSign eSignature Connector if you've subscribed to the Advanced version. Here's an article for complete info: Get e-signatures for estimates in QuickBooks Online Advanced.

I'm adding this reference for future purposes: Convert an estimate into an invoice in QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to add a reply if you have more questions about managing estimates. I'm right here to help you. Keep safe!

@jeeper-trtcomput

You can use a 3rd party app with the estimate signature feature but you can't use QB Payment to accept payments.

How do you make an estimate signature?

I was able to use the get signature button on the mobile app but can't find that signature afterwards.  Where does that signature actually go?  Was hoping it would input itself into the estimate for printing.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community, jackhavlin1973.

When successfully adding a signature to your invoice or estimate, it will automatically apply depending on where you add it.

I can help you in adding a signature to your estimate and how to check it.

  1. From the Menu, click Estimates..
  2. Select an existing transaction, or create a new one.
  3. Add any information. Then, click More actions beside the save button.
  4. Select Get signature. Then, add a signature.
  5. Select Done. Then, click Save.
  6. To see the signature, you can go to your transactions, and then click Estimates.
  7. View the estimate, and scroll down to review if the signature is added.

If the signature still doesn't show up, you can consider performing some basic troubleshooting steps on your mobile app.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Setting.
  2. Click General. Then, select the app.
  3. Click Clear Cache.

You can also utilize the feature on how to snap and upload your receipts and bills to your mobile app: Upload your receipts and bills to QuickBooks Online

If you still have concerns about adding a signature, don't hesitate to comment. I'm always here to lend a hand.

If you have the classic view of estimates, you should see the saved signature on the attachment portion of your estimate. If you have been updated to the new estimate version, then this feature has disappeared.

Why can you only do this on the mobile app?  Is there plans on making it available to the main QB online?

Adding a signature to your estimate on different devices is a great functionality, @SAPPSEPTIC.

You can always stay up-to-date with the latest news about product enhancements by reviewing Intuit's Product Updates webpage.

For now, I recommend sending a feature request to the development team. Let me share these steps on how you can do it from your QBO account:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Feedback.
  2. Type in your suggestions about adding e-signature in the web version.
  3. Then, submit your request.

Alternatively, you can look for various supported third-party apps that offer this functionality. To do so, I suggest going to the Apps menu in your QBO account. Then, browse for an app that suits your business needs.

Additionally, I've added an article that can help you personalize your estimates templates to make eye-catching forms and add the info that matters most to your business: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

I'm always ready to help if you still have other questions about creating estimates and converting them to invoices. You can reply to this thread or start a new one to let me know.
