There are times that the program doesn't respond properly like how it used to be. Let's update your QuickBooks Desktop so that it will refresh the codes that have caused this issue.
Here's how:
- In your QuickBooks company, go to the Help menu.
- Select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
- Click Get Updates.
- Wait for the confirmation pop-up to start the installation.
- Confirm by clicking OK.
Now you can restart your QuickBooks Desktop program to finish the installation process.

Then, let's us try to change again the email in the Edit menu.
- In your QBDT company, go to the Edit menu.
- Select Preferences.
- Choose Send forms then choose the Company Preferences tab.
- You can choose Web Mail in this scenario.
- Click on the Add button and enter your email.
- Enter your e-mail Id and email provider.
- Then select OK button and then follow the on-screen instruction.
