How to save template for Item QuickReports?

The default template of the Item QuickReport only includes the following column headers: Type, Date, Num, Name, Memo, Qty and Amount. However, I wanted it to display the sales price. I can do that by clicking the Customize Report button and checking "Sales Price" under the columns section. However, we have to do this every time whenever we open the QuickReport.

Is there a way to customize the Item QuickReport and save that template whenever we generate it?

Appreciate your help. Thanks!

Thanks for reaching out to us, @jacpatatas.

I'd be happy to assist you today to customize the Item QuickReport in your account.

  1. Click Lists, and go to Chart of Accounts.
  2. Right-click on the bank account.
  3. Select QuickReport: [bank account].
  4. Click the Customize Report button then filter the necessary information.
  5. Click OK.

I've added a screenshot for visual reference.

@LollyNino_C   Your post does not answer the OP's question and in fact just repeats what the OP already asserted: "I can do that by clicking the Customize Report button and checking "Sales Price" under the columns section. However, we have to do this every time".  Which is not helpful.

@jacpatatas

There isn't a way to change the results of a QuickReport and make that stick for future use.

I also have this issue... How can you save a report to show for every item? I run this report about 20 times a day.

Hi drewcuda,

I'm here to share ways to save a customized report, so you don't have to filter it every time.

  1. From the Reports window, select Memorize.
  2. Enter a name for the memorized report.
  3. Select the Save in Memorized Report Group checkbox if you want to save the report on a specific report group.
  4. Select OK.

If you want to export a report, you can check this reference:

Also, feel free to visit our Help Articles page for more tips in managing reports.

There you have it, drewcuda. If you run on some issues in QuickBooks, just post them here. We've got your back

How to save template for Item QuickReports?

I am referring to the the quick report from the item list. From the quick report for a selected item, I can customize it, but only for that one item. I want this customized report to be saved and generated for every item I run a quick report on. Is this possible?

How to save template for Item QuickReports?

Hi there, Ash1212.

Currently, the option to customize the Item QuickReport and save that template whenever you generate it isn't available in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

I can see how this feature would be beneficial to your business. In the meantime, I suggest sending feedback straight to our product engineers.

To send feedback, here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu at the top.
  2. Select Send Feedback Online.
  3. Click Product Suggestion.
  4. Choose a feedback type and product area on the QuickBooks Feedback window.
  5. Enter your feedback, name, and email address (optional).
  6. Once done, click on the Send Feedback button.
