How to turn off Modern View for reports?

Every time I open up a report it defaults to "Modern View". I think this view looks horrible, and I would much rather have Classic View continue to be the default. Even when I manually change it to Classic View, if I were to drill down on the transaction details, it still automatically pulls up the transactions details in Modern View. I need to be able to turn this off, so that everything appears in Classic View right away, as it is slowing me down a lot to have to keep changing this. Where can I find the option to turn off Modern View entirely?

How to turn off Modern View for reports?

The modern view for reports is still a beta feature in QuickBooks Online (QBO), pbbookssr.

Since this is still a test feature of QBO, disabling it permanently is currently unavailable. At this time, you can manually click the Switch to classic view button when pulling up a report in QBO.

Furthermore, you can share your thoughts about this feature after clicking the Switch to classic view button.

Otherwise, you can submit your feedback about this feature directly from your QBO account. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Type in your feedback and suggestions about having the option to use the classic view for reports permanently.
  4. Click Next to submit them.

Additionally, you can check out this article to learn more about how to focus on the details that matter most to you when you pull up reports in QBO: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Keep me posted if you still have questions or concerns about managing your reports in QBO. I'll be here, ready to assist you. Keep safe!

How to turn off Modern View for reports?

I agree with the points of the original poster, and I would add that "Modern view" is also creating more work. When I pull up a report, by default, sections are collapsed for some reason.

The reason I pulled up the report is to look at the data - why am I having to click something else in order to see it? The classic view presents all data immediately. This "feature" of the modern view is debilitating our use of the product.

I'm sorry, but telling people to send feedback is not a solution.  Please turn this stupid thing off.  It is very annoying.

I agree - the modern view is horrible - can't believe I am unable to set so I can open in Classic - but have to keep changing each time.  Can you please at the very least add an option to allow us to set reports to always open in Classic if we choose.  Thank you

How to turn off Modern View for reports?

Hello, I just wondered if anyone had found a way to turn off Modern View? I also do not like it, Classic View is much better and I am also wasting time constantly defaulting back to it. It feels like QuickBooks has tried to fix something that wasn't broken and made it a worse user experience.

What an embarrassing reply for QuickBooks. Telling someone they "have an answer" which turns out to be direct your concerns to the developers. I have sent three separate comments to the developers on this topic and came to the QB community out of frustration. Whoever you have managing your customer service and development needs to be fired because if the solution on a community forum is to talk to developers then there is a lack of internal communication at the company. This is how QB loses market share, but - hey - the top execs are getting paid. Am I right?
