I recognize that every company has different needs, @7142. Let me explain the details of the message that appears on your invoices when you email them to your customers.

 

The statement you see above your logo is a default one generated by QuickBooks Online (QBO). It appears when accepting online payments from your clients. 

 

Currently, the option to disable it is unavailable in QBO. We value the opinions you shared with us. We'll take this as an opportunity to improve our product. That said, let me assist you in sharing your valuable feedback with our software engineers. This way, they can review your suggestion and possibly take it into consideration for our future product advancements. 

 

To do that:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter a description of your feature request and click Next.

 

Additionally, QBO offers enough tools for producing professional sales forms by customizing them. This way, you can alter the design and include particular details in your invoices.

Could this please be removed, or, at the very least, give the user the ability to turn the feature on or off. The text is not professional and reads badly which gives the impression that the message/invoice is fraudulent. The first time I saw it I thought we had been hacked!

There's got to be an easy way to turn this off or change the wording.  Poor grammar is a unprofessional, and a typical telltale that something is fraudulent, so it needs to be corrected or removed.

Did you find a way to get rid of it?  I can't even find it anywhere in any of the invoice or email templates.

Here's a sample invoice I just created with the very poorly-worded text circled in red.  It also appears in the invoice email in that same location.  I can't find this text in any of my templates, and it just appeared there recently.  When I first saw it, I thought someone was spoofing my invoices.

As my colleague @JaeAnnC mentioned above, the statement you see above your logo is a default that QuickBooks Online (QBO) generates. 

 

I know how beneficial it is to get the ability to remove a specific statement in your invoice email. That said, I recommend sending this request straight to our product engineers through feedback. 

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select Feedback under Profile.
  3. Share your feedback.
  4. Click Next to submit.

We regularly take your suggestions into account while updating our products. In this, you can track the progress of your feature request in our Feedback forum.

Thanks, but that doesn't solve the problem.  This new text is nowhere to be seen in any of this configuration.

We just had a client reach out to us about this. An option to customize or remove this text really needs to be added. I'm not sure why this was even added in the first place, especially with such awkward grammar. In the case of our client, their name wasn't even included in that sentence which makes it look even worse than it already does. It said "You can pay now your invoice to in the amount of USD 2,500.00"

QBO needs to kill this whole email invoicing "improvement" and revert. Our problem is similar, but with the chirpy "Come back and see us again!" close.

 

We cannot edit that out ... we rent a venue for weddings and memorial services. "Come back and see us for your next wedding!" or "Come back and see us next time you have a dead person on your mind!" is just plain rude. AND WE CANNOT CHANGE IT!

I have submitted feedback with the gear icon. This is beyond frustrating not to be able to change messaging to customers. Please change this back. It was better before this "improvement".

I also do not like that my custom message gets put at the very bottom of the invoice email.

I agree wholeheartedly with the comments above about giving us the ability to turn this new message off. It looks tacky and is totally unnecessary - of course their invoice can now be paid, that's why we're sending it! Quickbooks does some wonderful things and I am very appreciative of how your service helps our company. But this needs to change.

I agree that this is a problem.  I'm not sure why QuickBooks randomly adds wording that is mandatory.  Shouldn't each client be able to choose their own wording for e-mails?  It feels like overstepping to me.  The grammar is not correct and I'm a little embarrassed for it to go out to our clients.

This message is very unprofessional and can't be used for commercial applications. QBO OnLine needs to provide a way to disable this message. It is causing confusion among our customers.

1. Often our invoices are sent to accounts payable, but the account name & order is under the individual at a company. We change the email to accounts payable upon invoice. It looks very unprofessional to have "Hi Andy..." but then the email and our inserted message is going to Accounts Payable. 

2. Sometimes our inserted message is in direct conflict with "template message" - can cause confusion or look unprofessional. Or the individual will not read the message content because they see the "template message" first that is not relevant.

3. We often send PAID invoice receipts for customer company records. Looks unprofessional to have the first line be "Hi Paul! You can pay now your invoice to..... in the amount of $0.00, but in our message, we state attached is your PAID RECEIPT for your records.

3. Template Message looks like "spam" in email.

Agreed!  What a mess!  We have customers calling us asking if this is a SCAM!  I can't believe Intuit isn't more focused on finding a solution here.  This is a bad look for our company.  In the United States, no one would ever say, "you can pay now your invoice."  I'm guessing they used a cheap translation service and this is what came out.  Do better Intuit.  This is trash.

Because Quickbooks and Intuit make our company look bad, we have reverted to using Quickbooks solely for its original intended purpose ... company bookkeeping and bookkeeping alone.

 

There are plenty of alternative pay-on-line service providers and we now use one of their competitors to give our customers online payment options. We want to provide our customers with the convenience, even if the extra steps cause us a bit more work internally. That's a lesson that Quickbooks and Intuit clearly need to learn.

 

And they won't learn it until enough of Intuit's customers give the 2.9% to other online and credit card payment processors like we have started doing.

Crazy that Intuit hasn't tried to fix this knowing that so many customers are struggling with Spam complaints.
