How to turn on inventory tracking?

The tracking inventory feature is only available in QuickBooks Plus or Advanced. If you're using one of these, you can turn on this feature.

Here are the steps that will walk you through turning on the inventory tracking:

1. Go to the Gear icon.
2. Select Account and Settings under Your Company.
3. On the left side, select Sales.
4. In the Product and services section, select Edit.
5. Put a check mark inside the the Show Product/Service column on sales form. Still in the Product and services section, mark a check inside the Track quantity and price/rate and Track inventory quantity on hand boxes.
6. Once done, click Save. Then, Done.

The inventory tracking feature is only available in the Plus plan and Advanced plan in QuickBooks Online. It's not available in Essentials and Simple Start.
