I'm trying to create a goodwill account, but it forces me to choose a category of land, buildings, etc... with no option for intangibles, please help!

I'll make sure that you're able to create the goodwill account, joe-wisdify-com.

It's possible that your account is set to Business View. This is the reason why you can only select the pre-set up accounts. Let's change it to Accountant View so you can customize your Chart or Accounts, Here's how:

1. Go to the Gear or Settings ⚙ icon.
2. Select Switch to Accountant view.

Once done, follow theses steps on how to create a goodwill account:

1. Go to the Accounting menu and select Chart of Accounts.
2. Click New in the upper-right hand corner.
3. Select Other Assets in the Account Type, then select Goodwill in the Detail Type.
4. Enter all other details and click Save and close.
