Oh sorry, I thought there would be a title with my original question. I'm trying to get the live tax expert that I pay for through QB self employed. When I click on it through qb, it brings me to turbotax. An agent told me there is supposed to be a floating button that I click but there isn't one. I used the help thing several times,  and after trying with a few agents somehow I got a hold of a cpa, but I think he was drunk and he hung up on me. I did it again and got a hold of another cpa who told me he was only supposed to help with regular non business yearly tax. I have questions about estimated quarterly tax for my business.

It seems like no one really knows how to do it, even though it should be simple. Very frustrating.

We want our customers to be prioritized, @broce-nicholas-g.

This is not what we want you to feel. Since you need live support from the tax experts, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Team to verify your account subscription first. If you've confirmed that your subscription is Self-Employed Live Tax Bundle, I'd suggest raising your concern to our Support Team so that they can get feedback from you about the tax advisers that disregarded you.

I've added this article about the steps on how to reach our live tax advisers: How do I connect with a tax expert in TurboTax Live?

In case you're not able to see the floating button, you can consider using an incognito window or clear the browser's cache. This is done to eliminate any data issues that may cause the button to disappear.

I'll be around if you have other questions. Please don't hesitate to let me know in the comment section. Take care always.

I have already spoken to a couple other qb agents. One didn't really know and tried to give me a number that would connect me to a tax expert- it didn't. Second agent tried to tell me about the floating bubble, which isn't there for me. She had me try incognito and a different browser too, neither worked. She ended up directing me to turbotax support, who told me to contact qb. No one has been helpful.

Hello broce-nicholas-g,

I appreciate the feedback you shared about your experience with our phone support representatives. It is our responsibility to make sure your concerns are addressed without any delay. Let me share how the TurboTax Live Expert works.

TurboTax Live includes help from a tax expert when you need it, and the option for a final review of your return. This service is subscription-based. With that said, you'll need to have one of these subscriptions to be able to get in touch with our tax experts.

  • TurboTax Live Basic
  • TurboTax Live Deluxe
  • TurboTax Live Premier
  • TurboTax Live Self-Employed

TurboTax Phone Support Team can help you securely check your subscription and upgrade it when needed. Feel free to check out these links for more details about TurboTax Live:

If you need someone to talk to about QuickBooks, please feel free to let me know. I'm always here for you.

I have qb live self employed tax bundle, I know for sure. Just got it a couple weeks ago. I thought the tax help would be helpful, but apparently no one knows how to use it.

Catherine this doesn't answer the question. I also purchased Quickbooks Self-Employed with Live Tax bundle and the system isn't working. After selecting "Expert Tax Help" which then puts me into TurboTax, I enter my

information, it finds my TurboTax account, I "switch accounts", and it opens to the home page with my 2020 return. But there's no "live chat" option which is what the online support person said there would be.

Catherine part of your answer above also is unclear - Are you suggesting we have to also purchase TurboTax Live? I thought that that's included with this Live Tax bundle. This should be a lot easier to do - 1 or 2 clicks at most.

Just to see what happens, I clicked on the link you shared, "How do I get TurboTax Live" to see what it says. It says to log into your account, then open or continue your return and then select "Upgrade". There is no "open" option - the closest option is "Amend (change) your return". I'm not amending or continuing my return.

Also I actually managed to talk to a live person, and she said one reason the "Live chat" button doesn't appear is that support is now closed. I was trying this earlier before 5 pm PDT and there was no "live chat" button. Moreover your pricing page says "Talk to real CPAs when you need" and "Get unlimited help and advice all year". I'm including a screen shot. "Unlimited" and "when you need" is overselling the service, to put it nicely, if it's truly restricted to certain hours. If it's not, I may downgrade because I'm not getting what I paid for.

There are a lot of problems and inconsistencies here. This is surprisingly sloppy software and online FAQs for a company we're entrusting with our financial information and taxes. The software works well in many respects but you didn't thoroughly design or test QBSE with the Live Tax Bundle.

I am glad (not really happy though) to see that I am not the only person having this issue with QBSE not following through with the promise to talk to Live CPAs whenever we need to. I wonder how many more are out there struggling silently with this same issue. Let me know when the class action suit gets underway. I will be at the front of the line for this settlement. QBSE is definitely pulling a bait and switch on us by promising access to CPAs, but making it difficult, if not impossible to actually get through to someone.

Here is my thread about trying to get through to a CPA if anyone else is interested in following my through all of the hoops that Intuit is making jump through so far. Hopefully one day I will actually get to use all of the services that were supposed to be included in my subscription.

And in the mean time we're just supposed to keep paying money for a service we can't use? I went to downgrade my account to the non live version, but of course they made it so if I do I would lose the 50% off for the first three months thing. So if I downgrade now it would be more expensive for the next couple months. I am also glad but not happy to see other people have this issue.
