A void will only cancel out a pending payment if the void is done the same day as the transaction before 3pm Pacific time, as that is when transactions batch. If the void was done before 3pm, and the transaction was processed today, it's as if the transaction never happened and the funds won't leave your customer's account.
If the void wasn't done the same day, you would have to either create a refund receipt for your customer to process the refund or reverse the transaction in the Merchant Service Center. That would be for credit card transactions. If it was an ACH payment, a check would have to be issued to your customer.
