Sending good vibes to you, tracy29.

Yes, it's possible to set up a separate account using the same email. Each company you add will be a separate paid subscription, but you’ll access them all with the same login info. This lets you quickly switch between companies so you can manage everything more efficiently.

Here's how you can set up a separate account:

  1. Go to the QuickBooks pricing page and select the subscription you want. Then, you’ll see one of two sign-in pages:
    • If you recently signed in to QuickBooks, you’ll see a page asking you to confirm the account you want to sign in under. If it’s the account you want to manage the new company with, select “Yes, that’s correct.”
    • If you haven’t signed in recently,  you’ll see a page that asks you to create an Intuit account to buy QuickBooks. Scroll all the way to the bottom and look for the small text that says “Adding a company to an existing account?” Select Sign in next to this. When asked, enter the same ID and password you already use for QuickBooks. Or get help if you can’t remember your user ID or password.
  2. Fill out all the information about your new company and you’re good to go.

You can get more details in adding a separate account in the following articles below:

I need to set up a new account with a new company using my old email address. Our company was bought out and the new company has moved us to online using a different QB account. I do not need the old account anymore. Quickbooks will not allow me to register in the new account using the email I previously used. How do I cancel the old login and create a new?

Hi Carvin625,

I'm here to share some information about logging into QuickBooks with your new company.

You can still use the same email address, given that your new employer has given you an invitation to access the account.

You can share this reference with your company administrator to access the company's account: User roles.

I've also added this link that has detailed information on how to manage user roles: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online.

I'll be around whenever you have concerns with QuickBooks.2

I have been sent an invite and keep getting the same message that there is "something wrong- we are working on it" - I've tried everything. This has been going on for two weeks. The company I work with has been bought out. The new company is changing to QB Online ( Old company was QB Enterprise 19.0). When I get the invite email, I'm told that I can't sign in under this email.

Hi there, Carvin625.

Can you tell us what type of invite did you receive? Is it for paystub access or you're being added as a user in QBO? We're asking these questions to make sure that we're giving you the right steps and information to resolve the issue.

It is an invite to be added as a user in QBO. I already have a Quickbooks (Intuit) log in. It will not let me use that log in to get into the invite. My new work email is the same as my old work email (company has transferred owners) and we are starting a new Quickbooks Online. Previously, we were QB Enterprise 19.0. I have attached the message I get when I try to log in.

Hello, @Carvin625. ‎

Let me help you accept the invitation so you can log in to your QuickBooks Online account.

Since, you're unable to accept your invitation, we can perform the basic browser troubleshooting process. This way we can run the browser better and faster. Cookies and caches might block you from accessing your invitation link.

Here's how:

  1. Restart your browser.
  2. Log in to your account and try open the invite in an incognito or private browser. You can use these keyboard shortcuts to launch a new private window:

Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift +
Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
    Safari: press Command + Shift + N

If it works on the private browser, you can go back to the regular browser and clear your browser's cache. From there, log back in and access the invite. But, if you're still unable to connect into the account, we can recover your user ID and/or reset its password.

You can also contact our support team if the issue continues. This way, you can do a screen sharing with the agent securely and help you with the process to resolve the issue.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Go to Help.
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Enter your concern, then select Let's talk.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us:

  • Start a chat with a support expert.
  • Get a callback from the next available expert.

I've also added this article to learn how to accept the invitation: How to Add Clients to QuickBooks Online Accountant, this article explains the things to do when you're invited to access the account.

I'm always around if you have further clarification or additional information in accessing the invite. Take care always!
