Thanks for updating us regarding your concern with editing your credit card expense, @jenn52.
Allow me to step in and guide you with some basic trouble shooting steps to isolate the issue.
Unexpected behaviors or errors in QBO are usually caused by the stored files in your browser. If the cache is holding too much data, it can affect the browsing performance that can cause an error message like the one your getting.
That said, let's try logging into your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private (incognito) browser. Here’s how:
• Command + Shift + N (Safari)
• Ctrl+ Shift + N (Google Chrome)
• Ctrl + Shift + P (Mozilla Firefox)
If it rectifies the problem, clear the browser's cache. Clearing the history or log of sites resolves most issues with the web pages.
If the issue persist, I recommend contacting our Support Team. They can look further into this and escalate the problem for investigation. Here's how to contact us:
To ensure we address your concern on time, just see the support hours and types article for more details.
I'd added topics about managing your vendor's credits, payments, purchase orders, pay an expense, and bills.
Visit our QBO Help Articles page for more insights about running your business in your account.
Stay in touch to let me know how it works on your end. I'm always here to help you manage your transactions in QuickBooks. Take care always.
Let me guide you on how to fix the error, jenn52.

Once found, make sure to make the account inactive. I've added the steps below:
For more information, go through this article: Delete An Account On Your Chart Of Accounts In QuickBooks Online. Furthermore, you can run reports focusing on specific accounts. To give more details, I've added this for reference: Run Reports In QuickBooks Online.
Let me know if you have any concerns about the missing error that you're getting. Remember, I'm here to make sure that you'll get covered.
Thank you for the information, however, my accounts are and have been active.
