It's my pleasure to help you correct the 1099 error you're getting, @accountant16,

To get rid of the missing or invalid state, invalid zip code issue, you need to make sure of the address is accurate. Let's use the USPS Zip Lookup Tool to validate the vendor's location.

  1. Go to this link: https://tools.usps.com/go/ZipLookupAction_input
  2. Select the Find by City & State button in the middle.
  3. Enter the City and the State then click on Find.
  4. In the results, you will see the correct zip code to use for your 1099 data.

I'm having problems along the same lines, but with a new payroll subscription.  In the very beginning of the payroll set up process asks for the company name, address, and zip code.  The street address and zip code were entered.  QB identified it as an invalid zip code.  We played around with the format of the street address and I just verified the address and zip code with the above usps link.  How can we get past this valid/invalid zip code error when we've confirmed it is valid?

Hi becca4430, I appreciate for sharing your concern in this thread.

The tool shared by my colleague above will help us to figure out if we have entered a correct address. I appreciate for taking the time to follow it.
