Inventory items (POS) not syncing

I recently upgraded to QBPOS Desktop 19.0 and QB Desktop Pro 2021. Since the upgrade, whenever I do a financial exchange, the sale items are not coming across correctly for the inventory items reporting. It is also causing issues with COGS.

Some of the sales items are coming across as Inventory and some (especially new items) are coming across as "Parts". I only sell finished goods inventory (not parts). Those items showing up on reports as "parts" are posting to the COGS account as $0.00.

I did not have this issue until I upgraded.

Thanks

NB

Inventory items (POS) not syncing

Hi there, @NB2019.

I want to ensure you'll be able to transfer your data accordingly while doing financial exchange between Point of Sale and QuickBooks Pro Plus.

First, let's ensure that you have the latest versions of QBDT POS and QBDT Pro Plus. This helps prevent unusual experiences while doing the process. You can check these links for the steps on how to update both programs:

After that, review the financial exchange setup between your files. Incorrect setup may also affect your inventory items not to sync properly. You can do the following in QuickBooks Desktop:

  • Turn on sales tax
  • Turn on inventory
  • Set your preferences to allow Financial Exchange without having QuickBooks Desktop open. While financial Exchange should be run while QuickBooks Desktop is open, you can also do this while the program is closed. To make this possible, set your QuickBooks preferences:
    1. Go to the Edit menu, then select Preferences.
    2. On the left pane, choose Integrated Applications then go to the Company Preferences tab.
    3. From the Applications list, select QuickBooks Point of Sale.
    4. Select Properties.
    5. In the Access Rights tab, select the option Allow this application to read and modify this company file.
    6. Hit OK in the Properties and Preferences window.

To learn more about the process, you can check out this article: Financial Exchange Overview.

If everything is in place, yet the error continues, I would recommend reaching out to our Support Team for further assistance. A live representative can look into your account securely and review your sales items. You can check out these links for the supports' contact details:

Please feel free to get in touch with me here for any additional questions, I always have your back. Thanks for dropping in and have a great weekend!
