Welcome to the Community. I can share some information about applying a credit to customer in QuickBooks Online.
The Store Credit option is currently unavailable. If you'd like to record and apply the returns of the customer, you'll have the option to use a credit memo, refund or credit to a customer.
If you'd like to consider this, you can refer to this article to know their differences and how to create them: Apply a credit memo, credit or refund to a customer.
I'd help you pass along your suggestion about the Store Credit to our developers. You can visit the Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online website to post your request. I'll do the same on my end for the request to get more votes.
I'd also get back to this post once updates about your feedback are available. And of course, I'm still here to help you if there's anything else you need. Have a wonderful day!
Yea it would be different than that. So the way our store works is we are a resell store so we buy things off our customers that are able to get it at retail. Sometimes they want more money than we're willing to pay so we're tryin to figure out a way to be able to offer them x amount in cash or just a little more in store credit. For example, we could say we would pay $100 cash or $125 with store credit of $25. I just am unsure the offsetting entry for the accounts payable for the store credit .
