Is there a way to offer Klarna, Afterpay, Affirm or other payment plans processors as an option on to pay for an invoice?

Welcome to the Community space!

I am here to share some information about payment processors in paying invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

QuickBooks Payments is a payment processing service that allows you to receive payments from your customers quickly and easily. If you are already using an external payment processor such as Square, we have apps available that can sync your data with QuickBooks Online. However, if you want the most streamlined and efficient way to process payments and track your accounting, QuickBooks Payments is the way to go.

Your customers can pay for their invoices online with a credit card, debit card, PayPal, Venmo, and ACH bank transfer. You can also manually process payments in person or over the phone.

If you want to use Klarna, Afterpay, Affirm, or other payment plans processors, you can use a third-party app to connect these processors in QBO.

Here's how:

  1. From the left menu, click Apps.
  2. Select the Find Apps tab.
  3. Enter a brief description of the feature in the Search for an App box.
  4. If there's a list of selections, choose the app you want to integrate, then click Get the app now to connect.

Return to this post if you have other concerns about payment processors to pay your invoices in QBO. I'll be here to lend a hand. Have a good one!

@azdiscountticket

You can send invoices as usual from QBO. When your client prefer to pay the invoice with Afterpay or Affirm, you will generate a separate invoice manually. Then you can use a 3rd party connector to reconcile the payments into your QBO account.

You can use a third-party app outside our QuickBooks Online (QBO) program to achieve your goal, @Drbrandyfnpc. Let me expand on this.

First, QuickBooks supports QB Payments, which accept payments like PayPal, Venmo, credit cards, or ACH bank transfers. In your case, we appreciate your efforts to find the app you want within our QBO third-party app program. It appears that the apps you're looking for are not available on our end. Therefore, I recommend searching for a third-party solution outside the QBO program to achieve what you want.

On the other hand, to guide you effectively with QB payments, I'll leave this article here for assistance: Receive and process payments in QuickBooks Online with QuickBooks Payments.

@Drbrandyfnpc

They only offer QB Payment as the default option. If you are a retailer or wholesaler, you can use an inventory management app as the hub to sync with QBO and offer payment options.

Thank you. But my goal is to use one system not get another one to get sent to QB. I want all my invoices from QB. But I may need all new accounting software at this point.

Thanks but I don’t want to use another payment option. QB obviously is not updated. May need a new accounting with payment option software all together. Doesn’t make sense to keep going through a bunch of other programs

Most accounting programs don't build their own payment platforms so they provide connectors. Intuit does not have a policy like this. You can convert your data to QB Desktop and use the trial version to access your historical data for good. Then you'll start over in a new system to lower your conversion costs or purchase a 3rd party conversion service.

I'm facing the same challenges and it's frustrating.  QB is way behind the game with app integrations.  Took them forever to figure how to integrate pay later with PayPal.  Will be looking for new software provider next year that can streamline basic needs.  You can't even connect to ship station without using the 3rd party provider Connex and their fee's is ridiculous if you're a small business.  This is unwanted bottlenecks in my business.
